Bad Bunny and Danny Ocean are the frontrunners for this year's Premios Juventud, with both artists earning six nominations

The awards show, now in its 22nd year, will be held on September 25 in Panama City, marking the first time the event takes place outside the United States. Other artists with strong showings include Anitta, Beéle, Carín León, Emilia, Myke Towers, Netón Vega, and Peso Pluma, each receiving five nominations. The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Figali Convention Center on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX starting at 7 p.m. ET. Clarissa Molina has been confirmed as one of the hosts, with more presenters to be announced soon. This year’s theme, "Evolving to the rhythm of the music," aligns with Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrating the diversity and influence of Latin American culture in entertainment. Award ceremonies often serve as a barometer for the industry's direction, capturing shifts in audience tastes and creative innovation. The decision to host the event abroad and introduce new categories shows a clear intent to broaden its appeal and recognize a wider range of talent. There are 231 artists competing in 41 categories, with 30 focused on music, three on TV and streaming, and eight on social media. New awards this year include best alternative Mexican music song, best pop/rhythmic song, and Afrobeat Latino of the year. The eligibility period runs from May 31, 2024, to June 1, 2025. Fans will determine the winners by voting through September 1 at premiosjuventud.com. The night begins with a red carpet pre-show called "Noche de Estrellas de Premios Juventud," followed by a four-hour broadcast. Categories cover a wide spectrum, from Artist of the Year and Favorite Group or Duo to New Generation awards, Girl Power, OMG Collaboration, and The Perfect Collab. Music honors include Best Dance Track, Best Urban Track, and Best Pop Album, while TV, streaming, and social media categories highlight acting, content creation, podcasts, and viral moments.
