United Talent Agency (UTA) has officially announced the signing of John Legend, the celebrated EGOT-winning musician and multi-platinum artist, along with his production company Get Lifted

The agency will now represent him worldwide across all aspects of his career. This partnership coincides with Legend’s North American tour, marking twenty years since his Grammy-winning debut album "Get Lifted" was released. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Legend has accumulated an outstanding array of honors, including 13 Grammys, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Tony, and four Emmys, placing him among the elite group of just 19 individuals to achieve EGOT status. In 2020, he was honored as Variety’s Music Mogul of the Year for his significant philanthropic contributions. In an industry where collaboration is key, aligning with a major agency can open doors to new creative and commercial ventures. It’s interesting to observe how established artists continue to seek fresh avenues to expand their influence and reach. Jay Gassner, UTA Partner and Co-Head of Talent, emphasized Legend’s broad impact, stating, “John Legend’s reach across entertainment and culture is remarkable. UTA is excited to back his creative and business ventures in music, film, television, publishing, branding, and more.” David Zedeck and Sam Kirby Yoh, UTA Partners and Co-Heads of Global Music, added, “John is a global music icon and one of the most honored artists of his generation. His powerful live performances have been crucial in building his internationally recognized brand. We’re proud to become part of his team.” Apart from his ongoing tour, Legend will resume his role as a coach on the reality show "The Voice." His performance as Jesus in NBC’s "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert" earned him an Emmy nomination in 2018, and he later won an Emmy as a producer of that special. Through Get Lifted Film Co., which he co-founded with Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, Legend has been engaged in various projects for television and streaming. Recent productions include the Emmy-winning HBO documentary "1000% Me: Growing Up Mixed," "Loudmouth" on Paramount+, and the popular Netflix competition "Rhythm & Flow." Upcoming releases include "Before I Let Go" for NBC/Peacock, adapted from Kennedy Ryan’s novel, "Blacktop Wasteland" based on S.A. Cosby’s book, the feature film "B-Sides" by Misha Green, and "Phantom," a contemporary take on "Phantom of the Opera." The company also manages Get Lifted Books, dedicated to promoting diverse literary voices. Legend’s management continues under Ty Stiklorius at Friends At Work, with legal representation provided by Aaron Rosenberg of Myman, Greenspan, Fox, Rosenberg, Mobasser, Younger & Light, and Nina Shaw of Del, Shaw, Moonves, Tanaka, Finkelstein & Leazcano.
