Songwriter and producer Grant Boutin has extended his publishing agreement with Avex Music Group and Runner Music, the company co-founded by Ryan Tedder

Based in Los Angeles, Boutin initially signed with Avex in 2021, and Runner Music came on board as a partner two years after that. His collaborations with Tedder include multiple tracks for Tate McRae, such as the popular songs "Sports Car," "Greedy," and "Revolving Door," all included on her number one album "So Close to What." Boutin's portfolio also features Meghan Trainor’s "Timeless," production work for Blacpink’s Lisa, and contributions to the "F1: The Album" soundtrack alongside Don Toliver and Doja Cat’s "Lose My Mind." Ryan Tedder and Amanda Hill of Runner Music expressed pride in Boutin’s development and enthusiasm for the continued partnership. Avex CEO Brandon Silverstein also shared his excitement about supporting Boutin’s career trajectory. Boutin is managed by Anthony D’Annunzio, Damon Bunetta, and Wes Geiken of Big Family, and he looks forward to growing further with both companies. The Latin Recording Academy has announced the 2025 Leading Ladies of Entertainment, now in its ninth year, honoring women in Latin entertainment for their professional achievements and social impact. This year’s recipients are Maricarmen "Tuti" Bou of Sony Music Puerto Rico, manager Amarilys Germán, Paula Kaminsky of Global Talent Services, and singer-songwriter Rozalén. Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, praised the group for their career accomplishments and community involvement. A private event during Latin Grammy Week in Las Vegas will honor their contributions, with Amazon Music returning as sponsor and donating to the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation’s scholarship fund. Sony Music Publishing has secured a global deal with multi-platinum songwriter and producer CJ Baran. Baran’s credits include collaborations with Melanie Martinez, Marina, Nessa Barrett, Panic! at the Disco, Coin, and Carly Rae Jepsen, featuring hits like "Pity Party," "Cake," "Victorious," and "Talk Too Much." He also executive produced Melanie Martinez’s "Portals" album. Baran mentioned he is honored to join Sony Music Publishing and eager to work toward a shared creative direction. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has established the Chad Smith Foundation, focused on supporting young musicians by expanding access and opportunities in music. Smith stressed his belief that every child should have the chance to explore and nurture their musical talents. Singer Laufey has chosen the first recipient of her graduate scholarship for the Bandier Program at Syracuse University. Soolynn Lee, who connected with Laufey after a show in Cleveland along with program director Bill Werde, will receive the $100,000 award, designed to assist international and financially challenged students in the music business master’s program. Big Loud Records has promoted several members of its marketing team and brought on new staff across different areas. Brianne Deslippe has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing, while Amy Beard and Morgan Sweat have moved up to vice president positions. New hires include Corey Brewer as VP of media and public relations, Jen Danielson as VP of streaming, and Alex Henderson as VP of global marketing. CEO Seth England commended the team’s dedication and the label’s continued focus on artist development. Femme It Forward has unveiled the fifth group for its Next Gem Femme Mentorship Program, offering guidance, coaching, and networking opportunities to young women of color in entertainment. This year’s mentors include Romani Ogulu, manager for Burna Boy, Phiona Okumu of Spotify South Africa, and Natasha Stambuli of Boomplay. The program is broadening its scope internationally, especially across Africa, and expanding into fields like sports and technology. President and CEO Heather Lowery emphasized the program’s goal of providing access and tools that help women achieve success. Singer-songwriter Hamzaa has joined Prescription Songs UK. Her debut EP "First Signs Of Me," released in 2018, gained notice for its reflective content, and her single "You" led to a performance on BBC’s "Later… with Jools Holland," significantly boosting her visibility and resulting in more international TV opportunities.
