The 2025 MTV VMAs, hosted by LL Cool J, will feature performances by Doja Cat, Post Malone, Tate McRae, Jelly Roll, and Conan Gray

The event will broadcast live from New York's UBS Arena on Sunday, September 7, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Pacific. For the first time, the show will air on CBS, alongside MTV and Paramount+ for U.S. viewers. These artists join a strong lineup that includes Sabrina Carpenter, Ricky Martin—receiving the first Latin Icon Award—Busta Rhymes, J Balvin with DJ Snake, Alex Warren, Sombr, and Mariah Carey, this year’s Video Vanguard Award recipient. The mix of established stars and rising talent always adds to the appeal of the VMAs, keeping audiences engaged year after year. Nominations for the VMAs’ Social Categories, Best Group, and Song of the Summer will be announced on Friday, August 29, building further anticipation as fans discuss potential winners and surprises. Conan Gray is set for his main stage debut, performing “Vodka Cranberry” from his album Wishbone, after appearing on the Extended Play stage in 2022. Doja Cat returns to premiere her new single “Jealous Type” on television, following her 2023 medley performance. Jelly Roll, who opened the 2024 show with Eminem, has four nominations this year, spanning Best Alternative, Best Country, and Best Hip-Hop. Post Malone is back for his first VMA performance since 2018 and is nominated for Best Collaboration with Blake Shelton. Tate McRae will also make her main stage debut and is up for four awards, including Song of the Year. The 2025 VMAs are produced by Gunpowder & Sky, with Bruce Gillmer, Jesse Ignjatovic, and Barb Bialkowski as executive producers. Their track record points to a polished and entertaining show that should deliver memorable moments.
