Hayley Williams Releases Official Sequenced Version of ‘Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party’

Hayley Williams has now finalized the tracklist for her album “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party,” presenting the 17 songs in a deliberate sequence after first sharing them in a shuffled, non-linear format. This official version retains all the tracks originally made available in July, while introducing one new song titled “Parachute.” The album was produced by Daniel James, with Williams contributing extensively as a writer, performer, and multi-instrumentalist. Additional musicians featured include Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard, while Jim-E Stack appears on “True Believer.” This structured release follows an inventive, fan-driven rollout that began last month. Through Good Dye Young—the hair dye company Williams co-founded in 2016, which merges her passion for music with self-expression—she provided an access code leading to a hidden webpage. There, fans could stream all 17 songs, including early favorites like “True Believer” and “Negative Self Talk,” as well as explore a “Misc” folder containing live recordings, lyrics, and merchandise previews. Although the songs were only available for one day, Williams re-released them shortly after as standalone singles on streaming services, each accompanied by unique cover art. This encouraged listeners to craft their own playlists, sparking widespread engagement. A fan-created website, hayleysingles.com, even emerged where enthusiasts shared their preferred track orders. Williams later acknowledged that several fan-generated sequences influenced her final album arrangement. In the lead-up to the official release, Williams has kept interest high with a string of visually compelling music videos, including ones for “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party,” “Glum,” and the nature-inspired “Kill Me.” As music journalist Lena Shaw noted, “Hayley’s approach reflects a broader shift in how artists treat albums—not as static artifacts, but as living projects that invite audience participation and reinterpretation.” Physical pre-orders for the album launch today ahead of its November 7 release. Available formats include black and “Zissou Clear-Wave” vinyl, along with six other color variants: Highlighter Yellow, Marble Yellow, Orange Juice Splash, Crystal Clear, Grayscale Metallic Silver, and Poolwater Wave. An exclusive “Ego Gold Marble” vinyl will be sold only at retailers in Tennessee, paying homage to her roots. For CD collectors, 1,500 CD-Rs are available for immediate shipping through her official web store.
