Just before the launch of her seventh studio album, Sabrina Carpenter treated her most loyal supporters to an exclusive event held at the historic Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. Co-hosted by Spotify as the sun dipped below the horizon, the gathering featured a half-hour discussion about the making of "Man’s Best Friend," led by Owen Thiele, known for his role in "Adults." Carpenter opened up about her instinctual approach to songwriting, stressing how vital it felt to document this particular moment in her life through her art.
The night also included the debut of her "Tears" music video, which showcases a powerful drag cameo by award-winning actor Colman Domingo. Following the screening, attendees enjoyed an open-air showing of the 1954 classic "Sabrina," starring Audrey Hepburn. Hollywood Forever Cemetery—a landmark that doubles as both a memorial park and an unconventional event space—frequently holds concerts and cinema nights, offering a poignant setting that aligned perfectly with the album's reflective themes. Carpenter noted, “I used to come here to watch films, so it felt meaningful to share this space with everyone.”
Attendees, seated on custom blankets featuring the new album’s cover art, responded warmly as Carpenter revisited standout tracks from her career. She expressed particular fondness for "My Man on Willpower" and "We Almost Broke Up Again" from the latest release, in addition to "Don’t Smile" from her Grammy-winning "Short n’ Sweet" and the widely adored "Because I Liked a Boy" off 2022’s "Emails I Can’t Send." The crowd’s enthusiastic reaction to the latter underscored its lasting impact among listeners.
During a fan-led Q&A, one guest asked how the artist deals with insecurity when putting new music into the world. Carpenter acknowledged the vulnerability that comes with sharing creative work but balanced it with a touch of lighthearted confidence, quipping, “I just remind myself… ‘So many people wish they were in your position!’” This mix of genuine reflection and playful self-assurance has become a defining trait of her relationship with fans.
Looking forward, Carpenter will perform material from "Man’s Best Friend"—including the chart-topping lead single "Manchild," which became her first U.S. number-one debut—at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in October. She will also take the stage at Lollapalooza festivals across Chile, Argentina, and Brazil in 2025, signaling her continued growth as an international pop artist. Industry experts note that her strategic global touring reflects a broader trend among U.S.-based pop acts expanding their reach across Latin American markets, where streaming engagement has surged in recent years.
