Show moreJess Glynne, Jeezy, Black Eyed Peas Lead TikTok’s Songs of the Summer 2025
Jess Glynne’s 2015 single “Hold My Hand” has been crowned TikTok’s 2025 Song of the Summer, topping the platform’s global, U.S., and U.K. charts. The track’s resurgence was ignited by its feature in a Jet2 commercial, which inspired users to soundtrack comical mishaps with its upbeat melody. To date, the song has appeared in more than nine million TikTok videos, amassing over 80 billion views. Glynne—a Grammy-winning British artist who first rose to prominence featuring on Clean Bandit’s 2014 global smash “Rather Be”—expressed her delight, saying, “I’m honestly buzzing that ‘Hold My Hand’ has been named TikTok’s Song of the Summer! This track is so close to my heart, and seeing it take on a whole new life with you all on TikTok has been surreal.”
Jeezy’s “Soul Survivor,” featuring Akon, and Black Eyed Peas’ “Rock That Body” also performed strongly, securing second and top-five placements across the U.S. and U.K. lists. The full selection spans decades and genres, including Radiohead’s 1997 deep cut “Let Down,” Connie Francis’s vintage “Pretty Little Baby,” Kesha’s 2010 hit “Your Love Is My Drug,” and PinkPantheress’s recent viral track “Illegal.” This eclectic mix highlights TikTok’s distinctive role as a cultural archive and amplifier, where older songs find new audiences and emerging artists gain rapid exposure. As one music analyst noted, “Platforms like TikTok have fundamentally altered the lifecycle of a hit, allowing catalog tracks to compete with—and often outperform—new releases.”
Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s global head of music business development, emphasized the platform’s influence in shaping listening trends. “I’m thrilled to see the women of TikTok continuing to find success—from Jess Glynne’s undeniable moment to Connie Francis being discovered by a new generation,” she stated. Gardner also pointed to TikTok’s worldwide reach, which enables artists from diverse backgrounds to connect with over one billion music fans. This global dimension was reflected in the worldwide chart, where regional breakouts like Fantomel and Kate Linn’s “Dame Un Grrr” and El Alfa’s “Suave” demonstrated music’s border-crossing potential.
The final rankings illustrate a compelling fusion of nostalgia and contemporary appeal. In the U.S., Taylor Swift’s enduring “You Belong With Me” and Mila J’s “My Main” featuring Ty Dolla $ign both reached the top ten, while the U.K. list blended recent releases from Beyoncé, Dolly Parton, Sabrina Carpenter, and MK with perennial favorites. This intergenerational reach underscores how TikTok acts as a cultural meeting point, uniting listeners across ages and tastes through shared musical moments. It reinforces the idea that a great song never truly fades—it simply awaits the right cultural spark to resonate once more.
