Show moreJustin Bieber Releases ‘Swag II’ Featuring Tems, Bakar and Hurricane Chris
Justin Bieber has released "Swag II," a 23-track album featuring collaborations with Tems, Lil B, Bakar, Hurricane Chris, and Eddie Benjamin, less than a day after its announcement. The project, initially set for a midnight launch, experienced a brief delay before appearing first on YouTube Music and then across all major streaming services.
On Instagram, Bieber acknowledged the holdup, posting updates such as, “Sorry for the wait—they’re telling me any second now,” and “Waiting with you, not baiting you… no idea what’s going on, just refreshing like crazy.” The unconventional, last-minute promotion mirrored the approach used for July’s "Swag," which saw billboards appear in London and banners in West Hollywood ahead of its surprise drop. Bieber had been hinting at new material for weeks through social media teases from the studio, steadily building anticipation among his global fanbase.
Industry publication Hits Daily Double reports that the original "Swag" was conceived as a prelude to a more pop-focused album expected later this year. With "Swag II" now available, the two projects together total 44 tracks. The first installment, which included 21 songs and featured Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Druski, was largely self-produced by Bieber with support from longtime creative partners like Tobias Jesso Jr., Carter Lang, and Daniel Caesar.
"Swag" proved to be a major commercial success for Bieber, achieving his largest streaming week and debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Its singles also performed strongly: "Daisies" reached No. 2 on the Hot 100, "Yukon" peaked at No. 8, and "First Place" entered the chart at No. 52. These back-to-back surprise releases reflect a growing industry shift in which top artists are favoring spontaneity and volume over traditional album cycles. As music strategist Lena Torres noted, “Bieber is redefining fan interaction—flooding the zone with new music while maintaining impressive metrics. It’s a bold approach that, so far, is yielding strong returns.”
"Swag II" is available now on all streaming platforms.
