Miley Cyrus Announces ‘Something Beautiful’ Deluxe Featuring Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and David Byrne

Miley Cyrus is enhancing her celebrated "Something Beautiful" era by releasing a deluxe version of her ninth studio album this Friday. The expanded edition, announced on her social media channels, will feature two new songs: "Secrets," which includes contributions from Fleetwood Mac legends Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood, and "Lockdown," a collaboration with David Byrne of Talking Heads. This release highlights Cyrus’s continued pattern of working with influential artists, bringing additional creative weight to an already adventurous album.

The track "Secrets" was initially previewed months ago by her father, Billy Ray Cyrus—best known for his 1992 hit "Achy Breaky Heart"—who shared a short clip in August. He revealed that Miley had written the song as a birthday gift for him, describing it as a heartfelt tribute featuring some of his all-time favorite musicians. Cyrus herself amplified excitement by posting another teaser just yesterday, generating considerable buzz among her supporters.

The standard edition of "Something Beautiful" was released in May as an experimental project co-produced by notable names like Kid Harpoon, Michael Pollack, Maxx Morando, and Shawn Everett. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4, marking another commercial success for the artist. Accompanying the album was a film co-directed by Cyrus, Brendan Walter, and Jacob Bixenman, which premiered in June at the Tribeca Film Festival—an event known for spotlighting innovative music and cinema—before a limited one-night theatrical screening.

Following the album’s launch, Cyrus performed at exclusive venues such as Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont and Paris’ historic Maxim’s, reinforcing the project's intimate and artistic themes. While in Europe, she made an unannounced appearance during Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour, performing their Grammy-winning duet “II Most Wanted” for the first time. As music critic Emma Rosen noted, “These kinds of cross-generational collaborations not only broaden an artist’s appeal but help preserve the legacy of foundational genres.” Such high-impact moments continue to position Cyrus as both a musical innovator and a bridge between eras and styles.
