Show moreBad Bunny Concludes Puerto Rico Residency With Emotional Marc Anthony Duet
Bad Bunny concluded his 31-show "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" residency at El Choli in Puerto Rico with a powerful finale, surprising the audience with a special guest: Marc Anthony. The two Puerto Rican superstars performed a moving rendition of "Preciosa," a beloved anthem celebrating the island’s natural splendor. Bad Bunny revealed he hadn’t performed the song live in more than two decades, adding emotional depth to a moment met with roaring approval from the crowd.
Originally written by Rafael Hernández Marín in 1937, "Preciosa" gained renewed cultural significance through Marc Anthony’s iconic interpretation, which has often been embraced as an unofficial hymn for Puerto Rico. During the performance, Anthony approached Bad Bunny and embraced him warmly, their heads touching briefly as the music built—a poignant display of solidarity and shared heritage.
The closing night, promoted as "Una Más" ("One More"), also featured an impressive roster of homegrown talent. Appearances included Dei V, Ñengo Flow, Arcángel, De La Ghetto, and RaiNao, while Chuwi joined in for their popular collaboration "Welita." Reggaeton trailblazers Jowell and Randy were allotted a dedicated 10-minute segment to perform their greatest hits, contributing to a marathon concert that ran close to four hours without interruption.
Broadcast globally via Amazon Music and Twitch—with a full-day replay available—the event also marked the beginning of a new collaboration between the platform and Bad Bunny designed to benefit Puerto Rico. The initiative will channel resources into expanding STEM education, enhancing digital infrastructure in schools, and supporting sustainable agriculture to address food scarcity. As cultural economist Dr. Elena Márquez noted, "When global artists and tech leaders join forces, they can amplify local impact while honoring cultural identity in meaningful ways."
This partnership reflects a growing trend of entertainers leveraging their influence to address systemic challenges. Bad Bunny, whose record-breaking albums and sold-out tours have made him one of music’s most influential figures, continues to use his platform to spotlight issues affecting his homeland and beyond.
