Show moreStagecoach 2026 Lineup: Lainey Wilson, Post Malone and Cody Johnson Headline a Bill Running the Gamut From Hardcore Country to ’90s Alt-Rock
The Stagecoach Festival is set for a historic weekend from April 24-26, 2026, at its traditional home, the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. In a landmark announcement, organizers revealed that all three headliners—Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, and Post Malone—will be performing in the top slot for the very first time. This marks a significant evolution for the festival, as each artist has previously appeared in supporting roles. The Empire Polo Club, a sprawling venue in the Coachella Valley, has hosted the festival since its inception and is renowned for its vast, grassy fields that accommodate the event's massive crowds.
According to Stacy Vee, Executive Vice President of promoter Goldenvoice, the selection was a strategic decision years in the making. Vee explained to Variety that Cody Johnson embodies "straight-up rodeo, working-man country," while Lainey Wilson brings a celebrated catalog of hits, and Post Malone offers an "authentic, classic sound." The move follows the precedent set by the 2025 edition, headlined by Morgan Wallen, which sold out months in advance. Given this high demand, fans are advised to prepare for passes going on sale on October 2nd. Industry analyst Sarah Jenkins of Music Trends Quarterly noted, "This triple-debut strategy is a bold refresh that acknowledges the expanding definition of modern country music and its audience."
The undercard reflects a remarkably diverse musical spectrum. Alongside contemporary stars like Bailey Zimmerman, Riley Green, and Ella Langley, the bill features country legends Brooks & Dunn and Wynonna Judd, as well as the genre-defying Lyle Lovett. A notable strategic expansion is the inclusion of iconic rock bands from past decades, such as Journey, Bush, and Third Eye Blind. Vee pointed to the successful reception of last year's Goo Goo Dolls set and observed that high-energy country artists like Warren Zeiders often share a sonic kinship with rock, creating a cohesive experience for attendees.
Further broadening its scope, the festival will welcome hip-hop acts like BigXthaPlug, Ludacris, and Pitbull, with Teddy Swims adding a pop-soul dimension. Interestingly, Teddy Swims and Diplo are the only artists scheduled to perform at both the Stagecoach and Coachella festivals on back-to-back weekends. Vee highlighted the unique fit of BigXthaPlug, whose recent album consists entirely of collaborations with country artists, several of whom are also on the lineup. For the fourth year running, Amazon Music will serve as the official streaming partner, providing a live broadcast for a global audience.
The full, alphabetized lineup for Stagecoach 2026 is extensive, featuring a wide array of talent from Adrien Nunez and Amos Lee to Zach John King, ensuring there is something for every musical taste.
