Gloria Trevi Sets ‘Sin Filtro’ Docuseries at ViX (EXCLUSIVE)

The new documentary "La Trevi Sin Filtro" will offer a candid portrayal of Gloria Trevi, the legendary Mexican pop star. Produced for the ViX streaming platform by Sebastian Jimenez of JK Media, the series will launch with a complimentary premiere episode on October 24. Following episodes will be accessible exclusively to ViX premium subscribers, marking the newest addition to the platform's successful "Sin Filtro" documentary brand.

Gloria Trevi, frequently called the "Supreme Diva of Latin Pop," has shaped the genre for over three decades. The docuseries follows her on the international "Mi Soundtrack" tour, documenting not only her electrifying performances but also the private challenges of life on the road. Trevi explained the project's importance, stating, "My story has always been public, but usually narrated by outsiders who don't know me! This is a genuine look at who I am now—it's unfiltered, it's honest, it's my truth." Her career, launched in the late 1980s, is one of the most remarkable in Latin music history, defined by record-breaking sales and a fiercely loyal global fanbase.

This collaboration is Trevi's second with ViX, following her hit 2024 scripted drama "Ella Soy Yo," which ranked among the service's most-watched originals. Executive producers for the series include Trevi herself, Sebastian Jimenez, and Flavio Morales, with Mirtha Miranda serving as showrunner. Jimenez emphasized the depth of Trevi's narrative, noting, "Gloria's journey resonates across generations. Her life has been marked by incredible twists and personal evolution, making her a uniquely compelling subject. We are proud to present our second 'Sin Filtro' project with such an iconic artist."

Viewers are promised an intimate perspective, featuring Trevi's connections with her supporters and her family, all set against a professional history of immense triumphs and serious public scrutiny. Her reputation faced renewed examination last year during a legal dispute that brought back old accusations of sexual misconduct linked to her former producer and collaborator, Sergio Andrade. Trevi has repeatedly asserted that she was also a victim of Andrade and has publicly accused the convicted producer of sexual assault. This backdrop lends the documentary considerable weight as a platform for her personal account. As media analyst Dr. Elena Ruiz notes, "A documentary promising this level of rawness is a powerful tool for an artist to reclaim their narrative and foster a more authentic bond with the public, cutting through the noise of polished online images."

JK Media, the international production house responsible for the series, specializes in creating original content in both Spanish and English, with a catalog that includes popular series such as "Chiquis Sin Filtro" and "Larrymania." By giving Trevi this direct medium, "La Trevi Sin Filtro" seeks to shed light on the intricate and often contested story of one of Latin music's most enduring and controversial icons.
