Show moreRush Announces Additional Dates for ‘Fifty Something’ Reunion Tour
The "Fifty Something" reunion tour by the legendary rock band Rush has been substantially expanded, adding a significant number of new concerts to its summer 2026 schedule. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will now bring the tour to additional performances in key cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Toronto, Fort Worth, and Cleveland, effectively doubling the number of shows in these major markets.
This marks the first time Lee and Lifeson will share a stage in over ten years. They will be accompanied by drummer Anika Nilles, a highly respected musician known for her technical skill. Nilles, who has four acclaimed solo albums to her name and previously toured with guitar icon Jeff Beck, is stepping into a role of great significance. The tour is designed as a tribute to Rush's extensive musical history and the lasting influence of their late drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart. Peart, whose intricate drumming and profound lyrics were central to the band's identity for decades, passed away in January 2020 from glioblastoma, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. His death was a monumental loss for the music world; Peart is frequently cited by fellow musicians and critics as the most technically innovative and influential rock drummer in history.
The celebratory tour will begin with a deeply symbolic four-night stand at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with dates set for June 7, 9, 11, and 13. This venue is historically significant as the site of Rush's final complete concert in August 2015, making the band's return a poignant full-circle event. Geddy Lee commented on the decision to reunite, saying, "Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music." He further stressed the emotional weight of the project, adding, "So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable."
The strategy of scheduling multiple nights in each city allows for a comprehensive and varied journey through the band's five-decade catalog. As music historian Dr. Evelyn Reed noted, "This multi-night format transforms the tour from a simple reunion into a curated archival project. It provides the opportunity to rotate setlists and revive obscure tracks that haven't been performed live in 30 or 40 years, creating a unique, collector's-item experience for the audience at every single show." This model echoes the extended residencies of bands like The Grateful Dead and is intended to ensure that no two concerts are the same.
The full, updated tour schedule is as follows: Los Angeles, CA - Kia Forum (June 7, 9, 11, 13); Mexico City, MX - Palacio de los Deportes (June 18); Fort Worth, TX - Dickies Arena (June 24, 26, 28, 30); Chicago, IL - United Center (July 16, 18, 20, 22); New York, NY - Madison Square Garden (July 28, 30, August 1, 3); Toronto, ON - Scotiabank Arena (August 7, 9, 11, 13); and Cleveland, OH - Rocket Arena (September 17, 19).
