Show moreRush Add 17 Dates to ‘Fifty Something’ Reunion Tour
The legendary rock trio Rush has responded to massive demand by significantly expanding their "Fifty Something" reunion tour, adding 17 new concerts to the 2026 itinerary. This decision was prompted by the near-instantaneous sell-out of the initial seven shows. The expanded schedule now includes major stops such as Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Montreal, Edmonton, Seattle, and Vancouver, creating a truly comprehensive North American run from June through December 2026. This tour marks the band's monumental return to the stage, a highly anticipated event for a group inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 for its foundational role in progressive rock.
A multi-tiered ticket sales strategy has been implemented to manage the expected rush. Fans can register for a dedicated presale at livemu.sc/rush by Thursday, October 23, at 11:59 PM ET. Following this, an Artist Presale will commence on Monday, October 27. For US dates, Citi cardmembers gain exclusive access starting Friday, October 24, while American Express Card Members receive the same privilege for the Canadian concerts. General public sales for all new shows will finally open on Friday, October 31st, at 12 PM local time.
In a video announcement, founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson expressed their profound gratitude. "We are completely blown away by the response," they stated, also praising the warm reception for drummer Anika Nilles and expressing excitement to perform a wide array of songs. This tour is especially significant as it represents the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together in eleven years, their last major outing being the "R40" Tour, which concluded on August 1, 2015. The band's proven ability to sell out multiple nights in key markets like Los Angeles, New York, and their hometown of Toronto—where they first formed in 1968—before any expansion was even announced, is a powerful testament to their enduring appeal.
A central and poignant element of this tour is the presence of acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles, who steps into the role once held by the band's late drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart. Peart, who passed away in 2020 after a private battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, was universally celebrated as one of the most innovative and technically proficient drummers in music history. Filling such a revered position is a formidable challenge. As music journalist David Fricke observed, "While it's an impossible task to replace Peart, Nilles's own technical mastery and unique artistic voice make her a profoundly fitting choice to honor his legacy without merely imitating it." This extensive tour is therefore poised to be both a major celebratory event for their dedicated global fanbase and a respectful tribute to a fallen icon.
