Rosalía Confirms New Album ‘Lux’ Will Release in November

Grammy-winning Spanish artist Rosalía has officially announced her next studio album, "Lux," scheduled for a November 7th release through Columbia Records. The singer, celebrated for blending traditional flamenco with contemporary pop, revealed the cover art publicly on Madrid's Gran Vía. The striking image, which features Rosalía in a nun's habit against a soft blue background, has already sparked intense discussion among her global audience.

During a live Instagram and TikTok broadcast, the album was unveiled, though the TikTok stream was interrupted for reportedly breaching community guidelines by showing Rosalía smoking while driving. She expressed her excitement directly to fans, stating, "I've been waiting so long for this day, this moment, and finally, it's here." Pre-orders are currently available on her official website, including vinyl and CD formats, as well as a special $34.99 bundle that comes with a limited-edition signed postcard.

This announcement concludes a carefully planned teaser campaign that unfolded over recent weeks. Earlier clues included a cryptic "LUX = LOVE" tweet and a large billboard in New York's Times Square hinting at the November date. Another preview video showed the artist with a rosary between her teeth while listening to a symphony, underscoring the project’s spiritual and dramatic undertones. In an interview with Highsnobiety, Rosalía reflected on her personal evolution during the album's creation, noting, "I’ve changed a lot, but I’m still grappling with the same questions and the same desire to find answers."

"Lux" serves as the official follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2022 album "Motomami," which earned Album of the Year at the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards. This win made Rosalía the first female artist to receive the top album prize twice, following her earlier victory for the groundbreaking 2018 concept album "El Mal Querer." The production of "Motomami" was a collaborative effort, helmed by Rosalía alongside a team of top-tier producers including Noah Goldstein, Michael Uzowuru, Dylan Wiggins, and the legendary Pharrell Williams, whose influence helped shape the record's genre-defying sound.

Since "Motomami," Rosalía has remained highly active, collaborating with an eclectic mix of artists ranging from Icelandic experimentalist Björk to BLACKPINK's Lisa and emerging Spanish talent Ralphie Choo. Her 2023 joint EP "RR" with former partner Rauw Alejandro produced hit tracks like "Beso," "Vampiros," and "Promesa." This consistent output and fearless artistic direction have cemented her status as a global music innovator. As one industry analyst noted, "Rosalía doesn't just release music—she creates cultural moments that redefine the landscape." With "Lux," she is set to deliver yet another landmark work.
