Lauryn Hill has announced her "Artist In Residence" tour, an eight-city Canadian run that will see the iconic singer perform in intimate theatres, halls, and auditoriums. The tour kicks off on November 19, 2025, at Winnipeg's Burton Cummings Theatre and will conclude on December 19 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. This series of shows marks a significant return to the stage for Hill, whose last major performance was at the Essence Festival on July 4.
The announcement comes on the heels of that festival appearance, which was notable for its late-night scheduling. Hill took the stage around 2:30 a.m. for a performance witnessed by a sparse audience, a situation that prompted Essence Festival organizers to publicly defend the artist after she was added to the lineup just days prior. This new tour, therefore, represents a carefully planned and highly anticipated engagement for her fans.
Tickets for the "Artist In Residence" tour will first become available through a series of presales starting October 22, followed by the general public on-sale on October 24 at 12 p.m. In a philanthropic gesture, two dollars from every ticket sold will be donated to the MLH Fund, which supports local community outreach initiatives. For fans seeking an exclusive experience, a range of VIP packages will also be offered, providing premium seating and unique merchandise.
The tour news follows a period of public mourning for Hill, who recently posted an emotional tribute on her Instagram to the late singer D’Angelo, who passed away on October 14 after a battle with cancer. She described him as "a beacon of light to a generation," praising his "undeniable beauty and talent" and expressing deep personal regret for not having more time with him. D'Angelo, born Michael Eugene Archer, was a highly influential neo-soul artist known for his groundbreaking albums "Brown Sugar" and "Voodoo."
The complete "Artist In Residence" Canadian tour schedule is as follows: Nov 19 at Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, MB; Nov 24 at The Orpheum in Vancouver, BC; Nov 30 at FirstOntario Concert Hall in Hamilton, ON; Dec 3 at Place des Arts in Montreal, QC; Dec 8 at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, AB; Dec 10 at Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, AB; Dec 16 at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON; and the final performance on Dec 19 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, ON.
