Hilary Duff Teases New Music Will Be Released ‘Really Soon’: ‘I Needed to Feel Safe’ and ‘Have the Right People in My Corner’

Hilary Duff has confirmed that new music is on the horizon, more than a decade after her last studio album. The singer and actress, whose fifth album "Breathe In. Breathe Out." came out in June 2015, shared the news at the Vogue World: Hollywood 2025 event in Los Angeles. "We’re getting something really soon," she teased, adding that she has been deeply immersed in the studio with her husband, musician Matthew Koma, and other talented collaborators. She assured fans, "You are going to hear something so soon, like in the blink of an eye."

Duff explained that a return to music was always part of her long-term plan, but the timing had to be perfect. She needed to feel secure, surrounded by the right team, and personally prepared. "Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say," she reflected. The forthcoming album, which she describes as "the inner workings of my brain," represents a significant personal milestone. This strategic comeback follows her signing with Atlantic Records, a major label known for its roster of pop stars, a move that was officially announced this past September.

Adding another layer to her musical resurgence, Duff is also filming a docuseries chronicling her return to the recording studio and offering a glimpse into her personal life. The project is being directed and executive-produced by Sam Wrench, the filmmaker behind the massively successful concert films "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" and "A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter," through his company Next of Kin Content. This pairing suggests the documentary will be a high-profile production aimed at capturing her journey for a global audience.

While she remained guarded about specific performance plans, Duff hinted that major developments are underway. "All of the things are happening. I can’t give up too much information or everyone’s gonna kill me, but I am dancing and… everything’s in motion. It’s exciting," she shared. She was spotted at the Vogue World event conversing with Atlantic Music Group's Chairman, Elliot Grainge, and his wife Sofia Richie, further fueling speculation about the label's significant backing for her new era. When her dedicated gay fanbase was mentioned, Duff smiled and affirmed, "You know it’s all for them. It’s just to impress them," acknowledging their long-standing support.

The announcement comes on the heels of another high-fashion moment for Duff, who recently turned heads at the Academy Museum Gala in a stunning purple gown by Alberta Ferretti. She humorously contrasted that glamorous evening with her daytime activities, recalling, "That morning, I was at my daughter’s 7th birthday party on a farm, like in a dusty field." Joking about the transformation, she credited her stylists as "miracle workers," noting, "I basically took a bird bath in a hotel room and put that gorgeous gown on," highlighting the balancing act between her life as a mother and a returning pop icon.
