The legendary rock group AC/DC has revealed plans for a 21-city stadium tour throughout the Americas in 2026. Named the "Power Up" tour, the title is a nod to their 2020 album, but the setlist is expected to deliver a career-spanning retrospective of their five-decade history. The band, which famously debuted on New Year's Eve in 1973, will perform in major cities including São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Atlanta, Toronto, and San Francisco.
Fronted by co-founder Angus Young, instantly recognizable in his schoolboy uniform, and the formidable vocals of Brian Johnson, the current lineup also features Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums, and Chris Chaney on bass. Stevie Young, the nephew of founding brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, officially joined the band in 2014. He permanently took over the rhythm guitar duties following the 2017 death of his uncle Malcolm, the band's primary songwriter, thereby preserving the iconic twin-guitar sound that has been a cornerstone of their identity since their formation in Sydney, Australia.
Having sold an estimated 200 million records worldwide, AC/DC is firmly established as one of the best-selling artists of all time, a monumental achievement that led to their 2003 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Audiences can expect to hear classic anthems such as "Highway to Hell," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and "Back in Black." According to music historian Dr. Evelyn Shaw, "AC/DC's unwavering commitment to raw, high-voltage rock has crafted a live spectacle that bridges generational divides. A new tour from them is less a simple concert and more a cultural ritual, reaffirming the primal, enduring power of the genre."
Tickets for the extensive tour will go on sale this Friday, November 7th. While most shows will begin sales at the same time, the Denver, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia dates are notable exceptions, with their on-sale times scheduled for 12 PM local time. Given the band's legendary status and the sheer scale of this stadium run, fans should prepare for intense demand and the strong possibility of rapid sell-outs.
