Show more‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Voice Audrey Nuna, Outschool Team for Music Contest (EXCLUSIVE)
San Francisco's Outschool, an online education provider offering a vast catalog of more than 140,000 live virtual classes for students aged one to eighteen, has unveiled its inaugural worldwide music competition. This new initiative, developed in collaboration with singer Audrey Nuna, aims to foster creative expression among participants aged 6 through 18. The company intends to launch a sequence of similar contests to help young learners cultivate practical abilities that extend past traditional academic boundaries.
Participants from around the globe can submit original entries in various disciplines, including singing, instrumental performance, dance, and musical theater. Finalists will be awarded prizes worth as much as $1,000 and will gain access to an exclusive master class led by Nuna herself. Outschool CEO Amir Nathoo commented, "Inspiration is the engine of learning at Outschool. By teaming up with Audrey Nuna, we are championing creativity as a crucial avenue for youth to build self-assurance and form meaningful connections." This effort addresses a frequent shortfall in many school systems, where budget cuts often lead to the reduction of arts education.
Mentoring the project is Audrey Nuna, an artist raised in both Los Angeles and New Jersey, who is known for her fluid mix of pop, R&B, and alternative styles. She provided the voice for Mira on the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack, and her track "Golden" from that project recently topped Spotify’s Global Chart. Industry sources note the song is also being considered for an Oscar nomination—a rare achievement for a song from an animated film. Nuna, whose albums "A Liquid Breakfast" and "Trench" have garnered critical praise, is currently expanding her global presence with debut performances in Japan, Australia, and Korea, building on the success of her sold-out first U.S. headline tour.
Nuna expressed her enthusiasm for the competition, saying, "It's incredible to witness young people experimenting and creating something that feels genuinely authentic. This contest provides a wonderful platform for budding artists to present their work, find their unique voice, and connect with a community beyond the standard classroom." One cultural analyst noted, "In the current digital creative economy, initiatives like this are vital for identifying and nurturing the next generation of artistic talent." Submissions, which should center on themes of creativity, confidence, and self-expression, are being accepted through a dedicated portal on Outschool’s website.
