Show moreWME Music for Visual Media Department Merges With Allegro Talent Group to Form New Film and TV Music Division (EXCLUSIVE)
WME's Music for Visual Media department and Patty Macmillan's boutique agency, Allegro Talent Group, have officially merged to create a new film and music television division. Allegro, which was founded by Macmillan in 2012, has carved out a niche by specializing in the representation of composers and music supervisors. This strategic union combines the strengths of a global powerhouse with a bespoke agency known for its artist-focused approach.
The newly formed division will be bolstered by the arrival of Patty Macmillan and agent Lauren Kahler, who will join WME and continue to manage their existing clientele. Their move is expected to unlock significant new opportunities across film, television, video games, and live performance, facilitated by WME's extensive cross-departmental network. Bradley Rainey, a WME partner, will maintain his leadership of the Music for Visual Media department, ensuring continuity for that key area.
Bradley Rainey praised the merger, stating, "Allegro has built a reputation for deep artistic integrity and a truly bespoke approach to client development. Their roster is both world-class and forward-thinking, and they represent artists whose work is redefining how music drives narrative. Together, we look forward to creating expanded avenues for growth across film, television, games and emerging platforms." This consolidation reflects a broader industry trend where specialized talent is increasingly valued within larger, multi-faceted entertainment companies.
Patty Macmillan echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the shared values between the two entities. "From the beginning, our agency has been about meaningful relationships, creative trust, and long-term career guidance," she said. "WME shares those values and this partnership allows us to build on our foundation while offering clients the scale and reach of a global powerhouse." This fusion of boutique care with global infrastructure is designed to offer clients an unparalleled level of support.
The combined force of WME and Allegro boasts an impressive track record, having represented the composers behind six of the last seven Oscar winners for Best Original Score. Allegro's distinguished client list includes acclaimed artists such as Hildur Guðnadóttir (known for her haunting score for "Joker"), Volker Bertelmann ("All Quiet on the Western Front"), and the duo Clément Ducol and Camille ("Emilia Perez"). They will now join the ranks of WME's own stellar roster, which features industry titans like Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Ludwig Göransson, Jonny Greenwood, Max Richter, and Mica Levi, creating one of the most formidable stables of musical talent for visual media worldwide.
