Warner Records Group Names Gregg Nadel President of A&R

Gregg Nadel, a seasoned executive with 28 years at Warner Music Group, has been appointed to the newly established position of President of A&R for the Warner Records Group. In this Los Angeles-based role, he will report directly to CEO & Co-Chairman Aaron Bay-Schuck, a move that underscores the label's intensified focus on unifying its creative strategy across its divisions.

Previously serving as co-chair and co-president of the recently rebranded Warner Records Nashville, Nadel will now be responsible for shaping the company's overarching A&R vision and improving coordination among its three primary units. His promotion reflects a broader industry shift where major labels are consolidating international A&R functions to better navigate the global streaming landscape. According to industry analyst Maria Flores, "This kind of centralization allows for more efficient cross-border artist campaigns, which is vital when a song can go viral overnight in multiple territories."

Nadel will collaborate closely with senior leaders across the Warner Records Group, including Joe Kentish, President of Warner Records U.K., Karen Kwak, Head of A&R at Warner Records U.S., and Cris Lacy, who now serves as the sole chair and president of Warner Records Nashville. This newly configured leadership team aims to build a more integrated global framework for discovering and developing talent.

Warner Records co-chair and COO Tom Corson and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck expressed full confidence in Nadel, describing him as a "rare, all-around music man" whose expertise spans artist signing, production, superstar development, and team leadership. They emphasized that his deep industry relationships and consistent track record in nurturing top-tier talent will be invaluable as the company strengthens artist careers across its U.S., U.K., and Nashville rosters.

Nadel called the role an "extraordinary opportunity" to help artists reach audiences worldwide and praised the company's deep dedication to music. His career at Warner began in 1997 at Atlantic Records—a label with a storied history dating back to its founding in 1947—where he held various A&R and marketing roles after college. He later spent seven years as General Manager and then President of Elektra Entertainment before leading the Nashville division, giving him a uniquely comprehensive view of the music industry's evolution over the past two decades.
