The Anthem Awards, a prestigious initiative from the organizers of the Webby Awards, have announced the winners of their fifth annual ceremony, honoring a global cohort of activists, celebrities, and organizations for their significant contributions to social good. Among the top Gold Anthem Award recipients were singer Sabrina Carpenter for her work with PLUS1, actress and entrepreneur Selena Gomez, recognized for her mental health advocacy through Rare Beauty, and actor Andrew Garfield for his support of Sesame Workshop.
A diverse range of other Gold winners were also celebrated, including journalist Katie Couric in collaboration with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, the philanthropic duo Lauren & Seth Rogen with AARP, and creator Lilly Singh alongside the Unicorn Island Fund. Esteemed institutions like the Ad Council, Google, GLAAD, and World Central Kitchen were honored, alongside influential media and corporate entities such as Headspace, The Mel Robbins Podcast, Lush Cosmetics, MTV Entertainment Studios, and Spotify. The awards also acknowledged the vital advocacy work of organizations including the ACLU and Human Rights Watch.
This year’s ceremony introduced special achievement categories to spotlight exceptional individual and organizational contributions. Paris Hilton was named Advocate of the Year, tennis star Frances Tiafoe received Athlete of the Year, and Brooke Eby was celebrated as Impact Creator of the Year. The Philanthropists of the Year honor went to Tim Gill and Scott Miller, while Vincent Stanley was awarded the Vision Award. Among organizations, Google earned Brand of the Year, AARP was designated Nonprofit of the Year, and the AARP-sponsored Empowerment Award was presented to Public Inc. and the End The Wait campaign by Meals On Wheels America.
In a statement, Anthem Awards General Manager Patricia McLoughlin emphasized the importance of this collective action, noting, "At a time of persistent social and political division, these honorees demonstrate that shared purpose and solidarity can drive meaningful, positive change across the globe." The Anthem Awards were established by The Webby Awards, which for over two decades has set the standard for recognizing excellence on the internet, making the Anthems a natural extension of this legacy into the realm of social impact.
The judging process, conducted by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, reviewed an impressive 2,000 entries submitted from 42 different countries, underscoring the truly international character of the awards. This global participation highlights a growing, worldwide movement where diverse voices unite to address pressing societal issues. A complete list of all winners is available for public viewing on the official Anthem Awards website.
