Ariana Grande Calls Her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ Tour the ‘Last Hurrah’: ‘Might Not Happen Again for a Long Time’

Ariana Grande has revealed that her forthcoming "Eternal Sunshine" tour will be a major professional milestone. In a recent chat on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, the pop superstar confirmed this is her first arena tour in nearly a decade and strongly suggested it will be her last for the foreseeable future.

Grande, whose 2019 album "Thank U, Next" broke streaming records and cemented her status as a generational pop icon, discussed her evolving career goals. She told Poehler, "The next ten to twenty years are going to look very different from the last fifteen." While avoiding an absolute promise, she added, "I am so excited for this intimate tour, but I do think it might be the last one for a very, very long time. I want to put my entire heart into it and make it a gorgeous, final send-off." This strategy is not uncommon in the music world. Industry expert Maria Flores observed, "A farewell-style tour often allows an artist to honor a specific era of their work before pivoting to new ventures, whether in film, business, or family life." Grande's decision may also reflect a broader trend among performers seeking to balance intense touring schedules with long-term creative and personal well-being.

The tour kicks off on June 6 in Oakland, California, and will travel across the United States, visiting major hubs such as Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Boston. The North American leg wraps up on August 5 in Chicago. After that, Grande will head to London for a run of 10 concerts. These performances will take place at the famed O2 Arena, a 20,000-seat venue that consistently ranks as one of the world's busiest entertainment destinations.

During the same podcast, Grande also spoke about her part in the upcoming comedy "Focker In-Law," the newest installment in the popular "Meet the Parents" series. She shared that playing a triathlete resulted in some unforgettable on-set experiences. "I was doing burpees and high knees next to Robert De Niro just the other day," she remembered with a laugh. "I kept thinking, 'What is this movie? What is happening?' But honestly, I'm having the time of my life. It's a really unique and wonderful project to be a part of." This role marks a notable shift into comedic film for Grande, who previously gained widespread acclaim for her performance in the 2024 movie adaptation of "Wicked."
