Show moreThe Weeknd’s ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ Tour Surpasses $1 Billion and Becomes Top-Earning Tour by Male Solo Artist
The "After Hours Til Dawn" tour by The Weeknd has officially surpassed $1 billion in revenue, setting a new benchmark as the highest-grossing tour ever by a male solo artist. This financial milestone was propelled by the announcement of new 2026 concerts across Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and the U.K. To date, the tour has attracted more than 7.5 million fans through 53 performances. Since its 2022 debut, the production has consistently sold out arenas and stadiums across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Australia.
During the 2025 North American stadium leg alone, over 40 shows were complete sell-outs, cementing The Weeknd—born Abel Tesfaye—as the top-earning Black male artist in the history of major venues in cities including New York, Denver, Santa Clara, Seattle, Edmonton, Montreal, Orlando, Arlington, and Houston. The artist first rose to global fame with his 2015 album "Beauty Behind the Madness," which introduced his unique fusion of R&B, pop, and synth-wave. In reviewing the SoFi Stadium show, Variety critic Chris Willman highlighted how the performance showcased Tesfaye’s range, transitioning from moody, Cure-inspired moments to the confident swagger of "Starboy" and unifying synth-pop anthems.
Willman also pointed out that the 41-song setlist was carefully curated, weaving together contrasting emotions and personas into a single, flowing narrative. This artistic ambition, paired with spectacular staging, has resonated powerfully with audiences worldwide. According to Maria Flores, an industry analyst at Music Business Worldwide, "The sustained demand for The Weeknd’s live performances reflects not only his hit-making prowess but also his skill in creating a multisensory concert experience that transcends typical pop spectacle." This blend of theatrical storytelling and broad appeal helps explain the tour’s extraordinary staying power at the box office.
Beyond its commercial achievements, the tour has made significant charitable contributions. More than $8.5 million from "After Hours Til Dawn" earnings has already been directed to the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen. Proceeds from the upcoming 2026 shows will continue to support the World Food Program via Global Citizen, emphasizing the artist’s ongoing dedication to combating global hunger. The Weeknd’s XO Humanitarian Fund, created in partnership with World Food Program USA, has allocated millions toward emergency food aid, demonstrating how the tour’s influence reaches well beyond the stage.
Produced by Live Nation and sponsored by Nespresso, the next leg of the tour begins on April 20, 2026, in Mexico City. Over 40 new dates are planned throughout Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and the U.K., confirming that The Weeknd’s record-breaking run is far from over. With each new extension, the tour not only widens its commercial reach but also strengthens its humanitarian mission, uniting entertainment with meaningful social impact.
