Taylor Swift Releases Official Trailer for ‘Eras Tour: The Final Show’ Concert Film

Disney+ has announced that the official concert feature, "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show," will premiere on its platform December 12. This release is notable as it captures the tour's last performance in Vancouver and, for the first time, includes the full setlist from Swift's 2024 album "The Tortured Poets Department." The previously available theatrical version of the Eras Tour film on Disney+ did not contain these songs, as they were integrated into the live show only after the album's April release.

The launch will be accompanied by a new trailer featuring Swift expressing gratitude to her fans. In one moment from the finale performance of "Long Live," she states, "We have put so much work into getting to put on this final show for the tour, and tonight we get to play it one last time for you." She adds her thanks "to every single person who has been a part of the most exhilarating chapter of my life so far." Since its start in March 2023, The Eras Tour transcended a typical concert series to become a global cultural phenomenon. It shattered numerous records, including becoming the first tour to gross over $1 billion, and its economic ripple effect—often termed "Swiftonomics"—provided a significant boost to local businesses in host cities worldwide.

Also debuting on December 12 are the first two episodes of a six-part companion docuseries, "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era." Promising an exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective, the series will explore Swift's personal and professional journey throughout the monumental tour. The series will feature appearances from opening acts like Gracie Abrams and Sabrina Carpenter, as well as special guest performers including Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine. The remaining four episodes are slated to drop in two batches over the subsequent weeks.

These two projects were produced by distinct creative teams. The documentary series is directed by Don Argott, a filmmaker known for music docs such as "Last Days Here," who co-directed with Sheena M. Joyce, with production by Object & Animal. The concert film, however, is directed by renowned live-event director Glenn Weiss, a multiple Emmy winner for his work on major broadcasts like the Academy Awards, and is produced by Taylor Swift Productions and Silent House Productions. This dual-release strategy is viewed as a masterstroke in audience engagement, offering both a definitive performance record and an intimate narrative. As music historian Dr. Lena Torres observes, "This approach creates a more complete archival package. It serves not just fans, but future scholars studying the intersection of music, fandom, and economic impact in the 2020s."
