Show more‘My Hero Academia’ Concert Tour Unveils Trailer, Key Visual
Toho has revealed the main promotional artwork and a first look trailer for the global "My Hero Academia In Concert" tour. This live cinematic event, produced by GEA Live, will debut at Japan's Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall on May 30, 2026, before embarking on an international journey. The experience centers on a live band performing the acclaimed score by composer Hayashi Yuki, synchronized with a large-scale visual presentation of pivotal scenes spanning the anime's complete eight-season run.
The production is designed to immerse audiences in the saga's most memorable sequences, from major battles to crucial character arcs developed over the series' decade-long history. Live performances of famous tracks like "You Say Run" and "You Can Become a Hero" aim to amplify the narrative's emotional depth and themes of heroism. Floris Douwes, producer and managing director at GEA Live, emphasized the score's role, stating, "Hayashi Yuki's music is the emotional heartbeat of 'My Hero Academia.' Experiencing it performed live alongside these iconic visuals transforms the story's key moments—its victories, losses, and enduring spirit—into a powerful, shared event for the fan community." This format leverages the strong nostalgic connection and collective identity that anime soundtracks often cultivate, a strategy increasingly used to engage dedicated global fanbases.
Kohei Horikoshi's series, which concluded its eighth and final season in late 2025, is set in a world where most people are born with superpowers called "Quirks." It follows protagonist Izuku Midoriya and his peers at U.A. High School, an elite academy for training future heroes. The concert serves as both a tribute to the franchise's legacy for existing fans and an energetic introduction for newcomers. It is part of a growing industry trend of translating beloved animated properties into immersive live events, shifting the experience from solitary viewing to a communal, multi-sensory celebration.
GEA Live, a Sony Music Masterworks Live company specializing in location-based entertainment, is producing the tour. The firm has a proven history of creating events for major franchises, including PlayStation, "Avatar: The Last Airbender," and "Demon Slayer," and has organized touring tributes to legendary composers like Ennio Morricone across more than 40 countries. This extensive logistical expertise suggests a highly polished production that could set a new benchmark for anime-themed concert experiences. The official tour preview is now available online, where it has already sparked considerable excitement and discussion among the global "My Hero Academia" fandom, with many speculating about potential international tour dates.
