Bruno Mars’ ‘I Just Might’ Becomes His First Song to Debut at No. 1 on Singles Chart

Bruno Mars has achieved a significant milestone, securing his tenth career number one on the Billboard Hot 100 as his new single, "I Just Might," enters the chart at the summit. This debut marks a first for the pop superstar, as it is his inaugural track to start at the top position. The song's strong performance, driven by 23.5 million official streams and 32.6 million radio airplay audience impressions, also propelled it to number one on both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts.

With this latest chart-topper, Mars now ties for the tenth-most number-one singles in the history of the Hot 100. He joins an elite group, becoming only the fourth solo male artist to amass ten or more chart leaders, alongside legends Drake, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson. Industry analysts note that achieving a debut at number one is increasingly rare in the streaming era, underscoring Mars's enduring commercial power and fanbase loyalty. As one music data expert commented, "A debut at number one requires a perfect storm of fan anticipation, strategic release timing, and cross-platform engagement—Mars clearly orchestrated that here."

On the rest of the Hot 100, Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" moved to number two, followed by Huntr/x's "Golden" at three. Olivia Dean's "Man I Need" and Alex Warren's "Ordinary" rounded out the top five. Positions six through ten were filled by Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas," Djo's "End of Beginning," Sombr's "Back to Friends," Kehlani's "Folded," and another Taylor Swift track, "Opalite."

Over on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Zach Bryan claimed his second number-one album as "With Heaven on Top" debuted with 134,000 equivalent album units. The Americana singer-songwriter, known for his raw, narrative-driven style that has revitalized interest in the genre, saw a significant boost from a surprise deluxe reissue. This version, released just days after the standard album, added 24 acoustic tracks, incentivizing fans to purchase multiple versions and stream extensively.

Morgan Wallen's "I'm the Problem" held firm at number two on the albums tally, followed by Olivia Dean's "The Art of Loving" at three, Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl" at four, and the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack at five. The Kid Laroi entered at number six with his new album "Before I Forget," while the lower half of the top ten featured SZA's long-running "SOS" at seven, Tate McRae's "So Close to What" at eight, Wallen's previous blockbuster "One Thing at a Time" at nine, and Sabrina Carpenter's "Man's Best Friend" at ten.
