Miranda Lambert Sells Entire Song Catalog to Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Domain Capital

Sony Music Publishing Nashville and the investment firm Domain Capital Group have jointly purchased the entire song catalog of acclaimed artist Miranda Lambert. This significant acquisition covers her past hits and is paired with a new, forward-looking publishing agreement for her future compositions, deepening a partnership that started in 2003. Financial specifics of the arrangement were not made public.

The catalog represents a cornerstone of modern country music, featuring Lambert's own chart-toppers like "White Liar," "Bluebird," and "Kerosene," as well as successful albums such as "Platinum" and "The Weight of These Wings." Her songwriting influence extends widely, with credits on Morgan Wallen's "Thought You Should Know" and Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas." Furthermore, her collaborations as a featured artist on tracks like Luke Combs's "Outrunnin' Your Memory" underscore her versatile role in the industry. Industry analysts note that such comprehensive catalog deals have become a major trend, as financial firms recognize the enduring value of proven hit songs as stable assets.

Beyond the catalog itself, Lambert's work will inspire a new Sony Pictures Television project for Hulu. Her current creative momentum is also highlighted by Grammy-nominated works: "A Song to Sing," a co-write with Chris Stapleton that marked her biggest streaming debut, and "Trailblazer," a collaboration with Reba McEntire and Lainey Wilson. Sony Music Publishing Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston praised Lambert's authentic artistry, stating, "Her voice and songs have shaped modern country music. We are honored... to champion her incredible songs." Domain Capital Group's Pete Chiappetta echoed this, calling the catalog "a meaningful addition" to their portfolio and emphasizing their focus on "timeless songs."

Miranda Lambert's career transcends music. A formidable entrepreneur, she co-founded the Big Loud Texas label imprint with Jon Randall in 2023. She is also a bestselling author, the first female restaurateur on Nashville's famed Lower Broadway with her Casa Rosa cantina, and runs the Idyllwind apparel and Wanda June Home brands. Her philanthropic impact is substantial; through the MuttNation Foundation, which she founded in 2009, over $11 million has been raised for animal welfare, supporting adoption initiatives and disaster rescue efforts. Legal representation for the transaction was provided by Greenberg Traurig, LLP for Lambert and Sheppard Mullin for Domain Capital Group.
