Lady Gaga to Perform at 2026 Grammy Awards

The Recording Academy confirmed this Thursday that pop superstar Lady Gaga will take the stage at the 68th Grammy Awards. With seven nominations this year, the 14-time Grammy winner is recognized for her album "Mayhem" and its hit single "Abracadabra," which are contenders in the prestigious all-genre categories of Record, Album, and Song of the Year. Further nominations celebrate her work in pop and dance pop, as well as for "Harlequin," a companion project linked to her upcoming role in "Joker: Folie à Deux." Lady Gaga, whose career began with the synth-pop explosion of 2008's "The Fame," has consistently used the Grammy stage for ambitious, visually stunning performances that blur the lines between pop music and high-concept art.

She joins a performance roster that includes Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, and Post Malone. The ceremony will also feature several tribute segments: Reba McEntire, Brandy Clark, and Lukas Nelson will lead an In Memoriam performance, while Ms. Lauryn Hill will honor D’Angelo and the late Roberta Flack. A rock tribute to Ozzy Osbourne will see Post Malone performing with a supergroup comprised of Watt, Slash, Duff McKagan, and Chad Smith. Presenters announced so far include Harry Styles and Doechii, with additional names to be revealed.

The event, executive produced by Ben Winston, Raj Kapoor, Jesse Collins, and host Trevor Noah, will be broadcast live on February 1 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. This year marks Noah's sixth and final outing as host, concluding a tenure praised for refreshing the ceremony's tone. Industry analysts suggest his blend of incisive wit and diplomatic charm helped the show maintain cultural relevance. The search for his successor is already a topic of discussion, as the Grammys compete for audience attention in an era of declining linear television viewership.

Earlier in the day, the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will be streamed live from Los Angeles's Peacock Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT on live.Grammy.com. The entire production is managed by Fulwell Entertainment for the Recording Academy. By pairing legacy artist tributes with performances from current chart dominators, this year's lineup continues the Academy's strategic effort to engage multiple generations of listeners—a balancing act seen as essential for the longevity of major award shows.
