This Sunday's 68th Grammy Awards broadcast will showcase multiple special musical tributes. Among the newly announced segments is an In Memoriam performance featuring country music legend Reba McEntire, acclaimed singer-songwriter Brandy Clark, and Lukas Nelson. In a separate homage, Ms. Lauryn Hill will honor soul icons D'Angelo and Roberta Flack. Hill's own landmark 1998 debut, 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,' remains a defining Grammy moment, having won five awards including Album of the Year.
A major rock tribute to Ozzy Osbourne promises to be a highlight, assembling a supergroup of notable artists. The performance will feature Post Malone, producer-guitarist Andrew Watt, Guns N' Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. This collaboration has strong musical foundations: Watt served as the executive producer for Osbourne's 2022 album "Patient Number 9," which earned the metal icon two Grammy wins. Furthermore, Post Malone's 2019 track "Take What You Want" famously featured Osbourne, creating a direct link for this on-stage celebration. Such tributes have become a Grammy staple, with last year's memorial segment led by Coldplay's Chris Martin setting a poignant precedent.
These additions join a sprawling and diverse lineup of previously confirmed talent, designed to appeal to a wide audience. The roster bridges generations and genres, from established stars like Justin Bieber and Pharrell Williams to emerging acts such as Sabrina Carpenter and the new global girl group Katseye. Presenters will add further star power, including Harry Styles—whose 2022 album 'Harry's House' won Album of the Year—and rapper Doechii. As music industry analyst Clara Shin observed, "The Grammys' performer list is increasingly a strategic map of the current industry, aiming to capture every major demographic and streaming cohort in one broadcast." This approach reflects the ceremony's ongoing effort to balance legacy with contemporary relevance.
Hosting the ceremony for his sixth and final time will be comedian Trevor Noah, concluding a tenure praised for its wit and warmth. The main event begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Preceding it, the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will distribute awards in over 80 categories. This event starts at 12:30 p.m. PT at Los Angeles's Peacock Theater, a venue known for hosting major entertainment industry events, and will be streamed live on the official Grammy website. This two-part structure allows the Recording Academy to honor a vast spectrum of artistic achievement while building toward the evening's most-watched performances and awards.
