Show moreTicketmaster Will Resell Canceled Ariana Grande Tickets From ‘Violating’ Sellers to Fans
A significant number of fans hoping to see Ariana Grande on her upcoming "Eternal Sunshine" tour were disappointed when tickets sold out almost instantly last September. However, in a recent development, Ticketmaster has announced a collaborative effort with Grande's team to reclaim tickets from buyers who breached platform policies. These tickets will now be offered directly to the public starting next month.
According to a social media post from the ticketing giant, a "small portion" of tickets purchased in violation of terms were identified and canceled in October. At that time, affected buyers on the secondary market were notified and told they would be contacted if tickets became available again. Ticketmaster now states, "Our focus is ensuring those tickets are reissued directly to fans," through a request-based lottery system launching in February. Priority will be given to those whose secondary market purchases were previously voided.
Ariana Grande, whose 2019 album 'Thank U, Next' broke numerous streaming records, amplified the news by reposting Ticketmaster's announcement to her Instagram Stories. She added a personal note: "Love you all so much and thank you for your patience… More information soon." This tour marks her return to live performance after a seven-year hiatus, with industry analysts noting it could be one of the most in-demand concert events of 2025.
The "Eternal Sunshine" tour is scheduled to begin at Oakland Arena on June 6, with major stops including Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and Atlanta through early September. In a November interview, Grande hinted at the tour's significance, suggesting it might be her "last hurrah" and that such a large-scale endeavor "might not happen again for a long time." This statement has only intensified fan anticipation, underscoring the importance of fair ticket access. The move by Ticketmaster and Grande's team reflects a growing industry trend to combat automated bots and speculative resellers, aiming to place more tickets into the hands of genuine fans.
