Show morePussycat Dolls Reunion Performance Set for WeHo Pride’s Outloud Music Festival: ‘Our LGBTQ+ Fans’ Are the ‘Most Passionate’
The Outloud Music Festival, a cornerstone of WeHo Pride Weekend this June, has secured a major headliner: The Pussycat Dolls. Produced by the renowned agency JJLA, the festival will mark the iconic group's sole Los Angeles performance as part of their ongoing global reunion, positioning it as a significant comeback moment. This exclusive booking highlights how pride celebrations have evolved into coveted slots for major artists seeking to engage with passionate, dedicated audiences.
In a statement released Thursday, members Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts expressed profound enthusiasm for the show, directly acknowledging their longstanding connection with LGBTQ+ fans. "Headlining Outloud at WeHo Pride as our only LA stop holds deep significance for us," the group said. "West Hollywood is a legendary hub of queer culture, and we are honored to celebrate a community that has supported us from the very beginning." Industry expert Mara Levinson, a cultural commentator, notes, "An artist's alignment with Pride is no longer just symbolic; it's a powerful demonstration of mutual support and a key part of contemporary tour strategy, especially for acts with a strong dance-pop legacy."
The Pussycat Dolls' path to fame was unconventional, originating as a Los Angeles burlesque revue founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995 before morphing into a chart-topping pop phenomenon in the mid-2000s. Their debut album, 2005's "PCD," spawned massive hits like "Don't Cha" and "Buttons," defining an era of pop before the group initially disbanded in 2010. Their current return taps directly into a widespread nostalgia for 2000s music, a trend actively leveraged by festival programmers. "We are in a pop girl group renaissance, and Outloud is at the forefront," said Jeff Consoletti, the festival's founder and executive producer. "Featuring The Pussycat Dolls alongside artists like Jade and Ava Max reflects the current cultural moment."
This year's Outloud lineup offers considerable diversity. Beyond the headlining Pussycat Dolls, Jade, and Ava Max, the festival will feature performances from Ashlee Simpson, a DJ set by former Spice Girl Melanie C, the theatrical Blue Man Group, singer Daya, and reality television personality Countess Luann from *The Real Housewives of New York City*. Guiding the event's atmosphere will be returning brand ambassadors Ryan Mitchell, Hannah Rad, Arisce Wanzer, and Billy Francesca.
The Outloud Music Festival is scheduled for June 5-7 at West Hollywood Park. Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 13 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time through the official festival website. Securing The Pussycat Dolls' exclusive LA date is viewed as a strategic coup for the festival, likely driving strong demand from both longtime followers and a new generation discovering their music through streaming platforms, where their catalog maintains consistent popularity. This booking may well influence how other pride events approach securing top-tier talent in the future.
