Show moreBTS to Appear in Back-to-Back Episodes of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’
The members of BTS—RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—are set for a major late-night television return. For the first time since 2021, the group will appear on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" for consecutive nights. Their visit is a carefully orchestrated event, featuring an in-studio interview and two separate song performances. The interview and first performance will air on Wednesday, March 25, with the second song premiering on Thursday, March 26.
This high-profile appearance is part of a significant comeback week for the global superstars. It follows the release of their fifth studio album, "Arirang," on Friday, March 20, which marks their first group album since 2022's "Proof." The gap between albums was defined by a group hiatus during which the members completed South Korea's mandatory military service—a requirement for all able-bodied men in the country—and pursued successful solo projects. Industry analyst Lee Ji-hyun noted, "This coordinated rollout demonstrates a strategic mastery of global media, re-engaging their massive fanbase across multiple platforms simultaneously."
Fans, known as ARMY, received an early hint of the album date through a personalized campaign. Prior to any official announcement, handwritten letters bearing the date "2026.3.20" were mailed directly to select fans' homes. The group's return to "The Tonight Show" holds special significance; while Jimin, Suga, Jung Kook, Jin, and J-hope have made individual appearances since, the full group last performed together on the show during their iconic BTS takeover week in July 2021.
The announcement was made via the official social media accounts of Jimmy Fallon and "The Tonight Show." The March 25 episode will also feature actress and singer Ariana DeBose, while actors Chris Pratt and Charlie Day are scheduled for the March 26 broadcast. "The Tonight Show," which tapes before a live studio audience at the historic Studio 6B in New York's 30 Rockefeller Center, airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and is available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
Beyond the late-night shows, BTS is launching a comprehensive multimedia event. A global live performance special, "BTS: The Comeback Live | Arirang," will stream on Netflix on March 21. This will be followed by the premiere of their feature documentary, "BTS: The Return," on the same platform on March 27, offering fans an in-depth look at their journey back to the stage.
