‘Heated Rivalry’ Soundtrack to Get CD and Vinyl Release, Including Unreleased ‘Cottage Mix’ Track

Fans who found themselves reaching for their phones to identify songs during the intense moments of "Heated Rivalry" will soon have a definitive collection. The official soundtrack for the hit series, which first arrived on digital platforms via Milan Records in January 2026, is getting a physical release on CD and vinyl later this year. This move, initially reported by Billboard, offers more than just the digital album's 34 tracks, marking composer Peter Peter's inaugural major television scoring project with a collection built on ambient synths and recurring romantic motifs that underscore the central relationship between rival hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.

The physical editions are packed with exclusive content not found on streaming services. Both the CD and vinyl sets will include a previously unreleased bonus track titled "One Soul (Cottage Mix)," alongside expanded packaging featuring behind-the-scenes imagery from the show. The vinyl release is a particularly deluxe affair: a two-disc set that combines the series' featured songs with selections from Peter Peter's original score. It also comes with a double-sided 12x24-inch poster, two trading cards, gatefold packaging, and liner notes penned by series creator Jacob Tierney. The CD mirrors this two-disc format, containing the full score and featured songs, plus a fold-out poster and its own set of liner notes.

Collectors will have options, as multiple vinyl variants are planned. A widely available "Montreal v. Boston" edition will be stocked by major retailers and independent record stores. For those seeking something more exclusive, an "Icy Inferno" color variant will be sold solely through the direct-to-consumer shops of Milan Records and Sony Music Canada. Industry analysts note that such exclusive pressings have become a key strategy for labels to drive direct sales and cater to dedicated fan bases, a trend seen across film and television soundtrack releases. Aside from the disc color itself, the packaging and contents remain consistent across all versions.

The soundtrack represents a significant step for composer Peter Peter, whose previous work has largely centered on independent films and atmospheric electronic albums. His score for "Heated Rivalry" expertly weaves tension and intimacy, a challenge he reportedly relished. "The goal was to create a sonic world that felt as competitive and passionate as the relationship on screen," Peter said in a statement about the project. The physical release allows this musical world to be experienced in a more tangible, collector-friendly format.

Below are the complete tracklists for both formats. The vinyl organizes the featured songs and score across four sides, while the CD presents a more comprehensive 2-disc layout, including several instrumental cues not on the vinyl.

VINYL TRACKLIST: SIDE A features songs by Dumas, Wet Leg, Philippe B, Baxter Dury, and Wolf Parade. SIDE B includes tracks from Feist, Satine, t.A.T.u., Harrison, La Bronze, Cailin Russo, and the exclusive "One Soul (Cottage Mix)." SIDES C and D are dedicated to Peter Peter's original score, containing key themes like "Rivalry," "Heartbeat I," "Inferno," "Hollanov," and "One Soul."

CD TRACKLIST: DISC 1 mirrors the vinyl's song selections. DISC 2 presents the complete score, offering a deeper dive with additional cues such as "Those English Words Just Roll Off Your Tongue," "Shivers from the Past," and "Heartbeat IV," providing the full narrative arc of Peter Peter's composition.
