Show moreMusic Industry Moves: Seeker Music Closes $267 Million ABS to Grow Catalog; Warner Records Nashville Promotes Five and Hires One
Seeker Music Group, led by songwriter Evan Bogart, has secured a major $267 million asset-backed securitization, backed by the international firm M&G. This inaugural financing deal, which received ratings from Fitch, Kroll, and S&P, was structured and placed by Barclays, with MUFG as joint placement agent. The capital injection will fuel Seeker's strategy to grow its music catalog, invest in new talent, and upgrade its rights management technology. The company's portfolio, a key asset in the transaction, boasts over 19,000 copyrights and master recordings from artists like Beyoncé, Drake, and Lewis Capaldi.
Evan Bogart, whose own songwriting credits include hits for Beyoncé and Rihanna, framed the deal as a milestone. "This capital empowers us to move even faster," he stated, emphasizing a "creator-led model" as the future of the industry. From M&G's perspective, Director Stéphane Rummelhard noted the transaction highlights music royalty financing's maturation into a sophisticated, long-term asset class. "By applying institutional grade structuring to high-quality music IP," he said, "we're enabling the long-term stewardship of catalogues and continued investment in creativity." This trend reflects a broader shift where institutional investors are increasingly viewing proven song catalogs as stable, revenue-generating assets.
In other executive news, Warner Records Nashville has reshaped its leadership team under chair-president Cris Lacy. Patrick Sabatini, Kristen Williams, and Victoria Mason have all been elevated to executive vice president roles overseeing operations, radio partnerships, and marketing, respectively. The A&R department also sees a promotion for Rohan Kohli and a new hire in Austin Jenkins, formerly of MCA. Lacy credited the team's artist-centric philosophy for building the careers of stars like Cody Johnson and Dan + Shay, while now driving campaigns for newer acts such as Bailey Zimmerman. Separately, The Orchard has appointed former Empire Nashville executive Heather Vassar as its Senior VP of Nashville. Vassar, who will maintain ownership of her company Casual Media Partners, is tasked with strengthening the distributor's ties to the city's independent music scene.
A new creative venture has also launched, as songwriter Jenna Andrews—known for co-writing BTS's "Butter"—and her business partners at Graffiti have formed a joint venture with Heather Vassar's Casual company through The Orchard. "This partnership is that goal realized," said Graffiti's Stephen Kirk, praising Andrews and Vassar for setting a standard for women in the business. Andrews highlighted their shared vision for breaking artists and Vassar's passion for music. This move coincides with a key signing for the Nashville scene: Australian country artist Mack Geiger, managed by Goldspur Entertainment, has inked a deal with RECORDS Nashville and Columbia Records following the chart entry of his single "String By."
Leadership changes extend to the live events sector, where Production Resource Group (PRG) has named Lawrence Burian as its new CEO. Burian, formerly the COO of LIV Golf, brings decades of experience from senior roles at Madison Square Garden and its associated venues and sports teams. PRG, a major global provider of staging, lighting, and audio technology for tours and events, is poised for expansion. "Lawrence brings deep operational expertise," said PRG board member Lauren Krueger of KKR, noting his experience in guiding complex organizations. Meanwhile, Atlanta's LVRN Records has bolstered its executive team with three appointments: Erica Grayson as SVP of Global A&R, Selitta Legrand as Head of Business and Legal Affairs, and Angela Alvino as VP of Accounting & Operations.
Strategic investment activity continues with Firebird's new partnership with UK-based Goodlife Management, home to electronic star Fred Again.. Reports indicate Firebird has acquired a majority stake, bringing Goodlife's team and roster into its growing network, which already includes Red Light Management. As part of the deal, Goodlife co-founder Oliver Sasse will become a senior adviser at Firebird to scout further acquisitions in dance music. Firebird CEO Nathan Hubbard, the former Ticketmaster CEO who co-founded the company with Nat Zilkha in 2022, revealed ambitious plans. "We plan to deploy upwards of half a billion dollars in capital over the coming 24 months into artist partnerships," he stated, having already invested over $300 million. Finally, The Press House agency has expanded its senior team by naming Alyssa Beach as its Nashville Director, where she will oversee client strategy and partnerships from the music city hub.
