Show moreCoachella Announces Set Times, With Jack White as Surprise Last-Minute Addition
The official set times for Coachella's opening weekend, running this Friday through Sunday, were released late Monday, allowing attendees and global livestream viewers to finalize their schedules. The lineup reveals headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G will anchor each night, alongside dozens of other acts. One notable surprise is rock icon Jack White's inclusion, not as a headliner but with a 45-minute afternoon set in the Mojave Tent on Saturday at 3 p.m. PT. This marks a stark contrast to his last Coachella appearance 11 years ago, where he topped the bill. The schedule also resolved the timing for Anyma's anticipated electronic performance, confirming a midnight start on the main stage Friday.
This late addition of a major artist to a modest daytime slot continues a curious recent Coachella trend. In 2025, for instance, Ed Sheeran and Weezer were similarly announced as near-surprise afternoon performers. Industry analyst Maria Chen notes, "It's a strategic move that generates buzz and rewards dedicated fans who explore beyond the main stage." However, based on past precedent with such last-minute bookings, there is no guarantee White will reprise this specific set during the festival's second weekend, unlike the formally scheduled artists.
The detailed timetable clarifies the prime-time headliner slots. Sabrina Carpenter, whose breakout album 'Espresso and Other Short Stories' dominated charts last year, kicks off the weekend with a performance from 9:05 to 10:35 p.m. PT on Friday. Justin Bieber, promoting his recent dual-album release 'Swag', is slated for a much later 11:25 p.m. start on Saturday, with expectations he will perform the project's 25-song tracklist in full. Closing night headliner Karol G, the Colombian reggaeton superstar, takes the stage Sunday at 9:55 p.m. PT.
Beyond the musical acts, Coachella also provided details on a special Radiohead activation that had intrigued fans. Described as the "Bunker debut of Radiohead Motion Picture House Kid A Mnesia," the experience centers on a 75-minute film crafted from thousands of archival fragments by Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood. Fans can reserve free timed entry via the AXS Mobile ID system. Meanwhile, the schedule also confirmed the timing for the festival's beloved quirky tradition: the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, set for a 2:55 p.m. performance on Friday.
Other key performance times include Friday sets by Devo (6:45 p.m.), The xx (7 p.m.), and Disclosure (10:35 p.m.). Saturday features artists like The Strokes and David Guetta (both at 9 p.m.) and Interpol (10:15 p.m.). Sunday's notable slots include Clipse (5:15 p.m.), Iggy Pop (7:10 p.m.), and FKA Twigs (8:45 p.m.), with Kaskade rounding out the weekend with a 10:45 p.m. start.
