Show moreKevin Shivers Named Co-President of The Team Agency (Formerly Wasserman)
The music division of prominent agency The Team—formerly operating under the Wasserman name—has appointed Kevin Shivers as its new co-president. In this role, Shivers will partner with music group president Lee Anderson to oversee worldwide strategy, day-to-day management, and growth initiatives spanning all areas of the live events business.
Shivers brings a wealth of experience from his 15-year career at competing agency WME, which he left to join The Team at the start of 2025. His roster includes influential acts such as Tyler, the Creator, Kid Cudi, and Kali Uchis. Anderson highlighted Shivers's impact, noting, "Since his arrival, Kevin's mentorship and strategic vision have been incredibly valuable. He combines instinct, experience, and integrity in a way that makes him the perfect partner to guide our future." Industry observers point out that such internal promotions following a high-profile hire often signal a desire for operational continuity and strengthened leadership during periods of change.
Expressing his commitment to the new position, Shivers stated, "I am incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together and honored to assume this role at such a critical juncture. What distinguishes us is our culture of shared ambition and authentic support. I'm excited to keep building with this outstanding team and our international client base."
The agency's rebranding to The Team followed a complex corporate history. Its current structure originated from sports and entertainment executive Casey Wasserman's 2021 acquisition of the music assets from Paradigm Talent Agency. However, Wasserman's subsequent appearance in the Epstein documents and reported communications with Ghislaine Maxwell led to significant scrutiny. This controversy ultimately prompted Wasserman to agree to sell the agency earlier this year. Such leadership and ownership changes after a public relations crisis are a familiar pattern in the industry, allowing organizations to stabilize and redirect attention to their commercial objectives.
Despite the ongoing sale process, the agency has aggressively refocused on its core business. Demonstrating its sustained influence, The Team recently secured more primary artist bookings for major 2026 festivals—including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo—than any competitor. This achievement underscores the market confidence that Shivers and Anderson must now maintain as they steer the agency forward.
