UTA Signs ‘Subway Takes’ Host and Comedian Kareem Rahma (EXCLUSIVE)

Kareem Rahma, the multifaceted comedian, musician, and creator of the wildly popular social media series “Subway Takes,” has officially signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) for comprehensive representation. The agency, which has notably expanded its Creators division over the last two decades, will now work to secure Rahma opportunities across digital media, film and television, brand collaborations, and other ventures. This move comes on the heels of Rahma’s latest project, a YouTube series titled “Keep the Meter Running,” where he spends entire nights accompanying cab drivers through New York City, visiting their favorite local spots. The series offers an intimate, on-the-ground look at the city’s hidden gems through the eyes of its drivers.

Born in Egypt, Rahma commands a substantial online following of over 4.5 million across various platforms. His most recognized work remains “Subway Takes,” an interview series filmed inside New York City subway cars, where participants deliver their most controversial opinions into a microphone attached to a MetroCard. The show has become a regular stop on celebrity press tours, frequently sparking viral debates and stirring conversation on social media. Recent high-profile guests have included Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ethan Hawke, Charli XCX, Austin Butler, and the late Jane Goodall, among many others. The series’ format, which blends raw street interviews with celebrity culture, has proven to be a unique and effective promotional tool.

Beyond his digital presence, Rahma is also an accomplished actor, with credits including Peacock’s “Poker Face” and his own feature film “Or Something,” which he both wrote and produced. His production work extends to films such as “Caterpillar” and “Ferguson Rises.” Adding another string to his bow, Rahma serves as the frontman of an indie rock band called Tiny Gun. The group is set to release its sophomore EP, “Please Respond,” on June 26. This latest signing with UTA is expected to open new doors across entertainment sectors, building on his existing management team at Underscore Talent and the Yorn Levine law firm. Industry analysts note that such multi-platform deals are increasingly common as talent agencies seek to capitalize on creators who can seamlessly move between digital and traditional media.

Rahma’s journey from viral subway interviews to a diversified career in music, film, and television highlights a broader trend in the entertainment industry, where online fame is leveraged into mainstream opportunities. His ability to connect with audiences through authentic, often humorous content has made him a sought-after collaborator for brands and celebrities alike. As he continues to expand his portfolio, the partnership with UTA positions him to further bridge the gap between digital and legacy media, potentially paving the way for more innovative projects that blend storytelling with real-world interactions.
