Show moreWarner Chappell Music Promotes Gabz Landman to Executive VP of A&R
Warner Chappell Music, the global publishing division under the Warner Music Group umbrella, has officially elevated Gabz Landman to the role of executive vice president of A&R. Operating out of the company’s Los Angeles hub, she will maintain her current reporting line to Ryan Press, who serves as President of A&R for North America. This move marks a significant milestone in Landman’s trajectory since she first joined the organization in 2022.
During her tenure, Landman has built an impressive roster of talent, including Amy Allen—a two-time Grammy winner for songwriter of the year and recognized by Variety Hitmakers in 2024—alongside Laufey, John Ryan, Madison Beer, Lizzy McAlpine, the Chainsmokers, Delacey, Andrew Wyatt, Daniel Chetrit, and Diplo, among others. Her close collaboration with Allen has yielded chart-topping results, particularly through hits crafted for Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae, Sabrina Carpenter, and Olivia Dean. Notably, Landman orchestrated the creative session that birthed the international phenomenon “So Easy (To Fall in Love),” bringing together Allen, Dean, and John Ryan in a single room. Currently, she is channeling her efforts into upcoming projects with Laufey, Diplo, and Madison Beer.
Landman’s eye for emerging talent is evident in her first-ever signing, Cal Shapiro, who has evolved into a vital creative partner for artists like Cameron Whitcomb and Alex Warren, contributing to the breakout single “Ordinary.” Another early addition to her roster, Carrie K, played an extensive role in Noah Kahan’s latest album and recently achieved her inaugural No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, collaborating with Koe Wetzel and Jessie Murph. For context, Warner Chappell has long been a powerhouse in music publishing, representing a catalog that spans legendary songwriters and contemporary hitmakers, and Landman’s rise reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to nurturing fresh voices.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Press lauded Landman’s distinctive approach: “Gabz has a natural instinct for spotting and developing talent ahead of the curve, and she brings a 24/7 hustle to everything she does that’s rare to find. Having built some of the strongest relationships in this business, she’s a real advocate for artists and songwriters, and a true leader helping drive Warner Chappell’s growth, both on the charts and culturally. She’s earned this, and I couldn’t be prouder to see this next step.” Industry observers note that such promotions often signal a broader strategic push within major publishing houses to prioritize A&R as streaming continues to reshape how songs gain traction.
