Blackpink’s Jisoo and Zayn Malik Drop Duet ‘Eyes Closed’

Warner Records has officially released "Eyes Closed," the highly awaited duet between BLACKPINK's Jisoo and British vocalist Zayn Malik, putting an end to earlier speculation. The track delves into the delicate emotions of a new romance, with the pair exchanging lyrics about surrender and faith in love. Malik responds to Jisoo’s lines, "Time is standing still and I don’t want to leave your lips/ Tracing my body with your fingertips," with his own verse: "I know what you’re feeling and I know you want to say it/ I do too, but we gotta be patient." Their mutual promise to "fall in love with our eyes closed" is set against a rich musical backdrop that fuses warm keyboards, acoustic guitar, bass synth, and atmospheric layers.

Jisoo, whose 2023 solo debut "Me" remains the best-selling album by a female solo artist in South Korean history, is currently engaged in BLACKPINK’s extensive Deadline World Tour. This tour has already seen the group fill stadiums worldwide, with future concerts planned across Asia—including Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong—through January 2026. At these performances, she showcases songs from her debut mini-album "Amortage," a title blending "amor" and "montage." The four-track EP soared to the top of the South Korea Albums Chart and has amassed nearly half a billion streams in under six months, propelled by hit singles "Earthquake" and "Your Love."

Zayn Malik, on the other hand, is gearing up for his inaugural Las Vegas residency—a major milestone in his career. The seven-show engagement at Dolby Live at Park MGM is scheduled for January 2026, following the launch of his 2024 album "Room Under the Stairs" and his first-ever solo tour across the U.S., U.K., and Mexico. The former One Direction star—whose debut solo album "Mind of Mine" made him the first UK male solo artist to debut at number one simultaneously on both the UK and US album charts—has a proven track record of commercial triumphs. Its lead single, "Pillowtalk," reached number one in 68 countries and earned a 5x platinum certification from the RIAA. His most recent release was "Break Free," an original song created for the video game "Borderlands 4."

This international collaboration highlights a rising pattern of cross-market partnerships in pop music, where artists from varied backgrounds join forces to broaden their reach. According to music industry analyst Dr. Lena Cho, "Strategic pairings like Jisoo and Zayn merge dedicated fanbases, creating a powerful formula for international chart success." Such partnerships often result in listener crossover, exposing each artist’s work to new audiences. Beyond her musical endeavors, Jisoo is also advancing her acting career, currently starring in the K-drama "Newtopia," which is available for streaming on Prime Video.
