Show more‘My Hero Academia in Concert’ Sets U.S. Fall Tour
The upcoming "My Hero Academia in Concert" U.S. tour will bring the anime's iconic score to life this fall. Organized by Toho Co., Ltd., GEA Live, and RoadCo Entertainment, the production features a 15-piece orchestra performing composer Hayashi Yuki's stirring music in perfect synchronization with projected footage from all eight seasons of the hit series. The tour kicks off on September 12 in Farmington, New Mexico, and will visit major cities from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Brooklyn, following a separate 10-city European debut also set for fall 2026.
Audiences can expect to hear famous themes like "You Say Run" and "You Can Be a Hero" as the live band intensifies key animated sequences on a large screen. The concert experience premieres in Japan at Pacifico Yokohama on May 30 before its international journey. "Hayashi’s compositions don’t just accompany the action. They drive the emotion and intensify every moment," explained Floris Douwes, producer and managing director at GEA Live. He added that the live performance adds a new dimension to the story, allowing fans to feel it more deeply. This sentiment was echoed by a Toho spokesperson, who stated the concert will make the world of the series come alive on stage for U.S. audiences for the first time.
The tour is a centerpiece of the franchise's 10th-anniversary celebration, commemorating the anime's April 2016 debut. The milestone year has also seen a special logo, visual releases, and the announcement of a brand-new extra episode. The series' immense popularity is rooted in the original manga by Horikoshi Kōhei, which has achieved staggering commercial success. To date, the manga has over 100 million copies in circulation worldwide, while the anime films have grossed more than $130 million globally, and the combined official social media following exceeds 4.3 million.
The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a Quirkless boy who inherits the power of the world's greatest hero and trains to become one himself at U.A. High School alongside his classmates in Class 1-A. Industry experts note that translating such a character-driven narrative into a live concert format is a complex endeavor that relies heavily on musical precision to match the on-screen emotional beats. The producing partners have significant experience in this niche: GEA Live, a partner of Sony Music Masterworks Live, has previously created live events for "Demon Slayer" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender." RoadCo Entertainment—a joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment and veteran tour producers Stephen Lindsay and Brett Sirota—specializes in building live experiences around major intellectual properties.
