Celine Dion Delivers Tearful Speech on Opening Night of Paris Residency: ‘I Had Promised Myself Not to Cry’
Show moreElla Langley’s ‘Dandelion’ Album Returns to No. 1 Spot on Billboard 200 for First Time in Four Months, So ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Won’t Get Lonely at the Top
Ella Langley's "Dandelion" has climbed back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, notching its third nonconsecutive week atop the chart. After arriving in late April, the album spent its first two weeks at the summit and has stayed within the chart's upper tier for about four and a half months. That latest rebound also gives Langley simultaneous command of Billboard's two flagship rankings, since "Choosin' Texas" remains planted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. If the single holds on when the next Hot 100 arrives Monday, it will reach 22 weeks at the top, tying the all-time record Mariah Carey set with "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and moving Langley within a single week of breaking it.
"Dandelion" returned to the peak on 67,000 equivalent album units, a mere 1% slip from the week before and in line with the album's recent performance. Billboard noted that figure marks the lowest weekly total for a No. 1 album in over a year; the closest recent comparison came in May 2025, when SZA's "SOS" topped the list with 52,000 units. Steady listener demand, combined with a Labor Day frame that produced no major new releases, helped fuel the comeback. The Billboard 200 gauges consumption in equivalent album units, a blended metric that folds together physical and digital sales, streaming activity, and individual track downloads.
Adela's debut full-length, "Prima," was the only new title inside the top 10, entering at No. 4 with 56,000 units. Full-album purchases supplied 31,000 of that sum, while streaming equivalent units added 25,000, fueled by 25.94 million on-demand streams. "Prima" also debuted at No. 1 on the album sales chart and No. 14 on the streaming albums ranking. Elsewhere, Beyoncé's "B'Day" re-entered the chart at No. 8 with 38,000 units, behaving much like a new release after a 20th-anniversary deluxe reissue. The album had been off the chart for 18 years. Beyoncé, whose career has yielded 32 Grammy Awards, originally released "B'Day" in 2006, and the reissue's strong performance underscores the durable commercial pull of her catalog.
The rest of the top 10 held mostly firm: Olivia Rodrigo stayed at No. 2 with 64,000 units, down a slight 4%; Morgan Wallen occupied No. 3, with Noah Kahan at No. 5. Ariana Grande surged nine spots to No. 6, boosted by a deluxe edition featuring live recordings. Rod Wave dropped six places to No. 7 after a 57% decline, one week after his No. 1 debut. Drake and Olivia Dean completed the top 10 at Nos. 9 and 10. For Langley, this dual-chart dominance raises the stakes for next week's Hot 100, where she could match Carey in the record books. Chart analyst Dr. Marcus Webb highlighted how uncommon such sustained crossover success is, saying, "Langley's ability to hold the top spot on both albums and singles for this long speaks to a cultural moment that few artists achieve."
