Show moreOlivia Rodrigo Sets All-Women Music Festival With Chappell Roan, Stevie Nicks, Katseye and More
Olivia Rodrigo is set to launch her very first Daisy Chain Fields Festival, scheduled for August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California. The event will showcase an exclusively female lineup, a bold move that underscores the pop star's commitment to gender equality in the music industry. Attendees can expect performances from a diverse roster of artists, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, Mitski, the Breeders, Die Spitz, Bikini Kill, Eli, Garbage, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, and Not for Radio. Special guests such as Karen O, Stevie Nicks, and Sarah McLachlan are also set to appear, adding further star power to the occasion.
Rodrigo expressed her enthusiasm on social media, writing, “Truly never felt more excited to share a piece of news with you all. I’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and I am so ecstatic it’s finally coming true!!” She emphasized that the lineup is “truly insane and full of my heroes and friends,” and highlighted the festival’s charitable mission: “Daisy Chain Fields features an all-women lineup and 100 percent of the net proceeds will go to charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls.” The singer added, “I firmly believe that joy, community, and music can be the drivers of meaningful change, and I’m hopeful this festival will be just that. I absolutely cannot wait to scream and dance and sing with you guys August 29th!!!!” Fans can sign up for presale access via the festival’s official website, with a special announcement expected on “Good Morning America” tomorrow—a reveal many had anticipated would be the festival itself.
This announcement comes on the heels of Rodrigo’s continued success with her third album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The record marks her third consecutive chart-topping release, cementing her status as a dominant force in contemporary pop. Industry expert Dr. Emily Hart, a music business analyst, noted, “Rodrigo’s ability to blend commercial success with socially conscious initiatives like this festival is a testament to her influence and vision. By channeling proceeds into women’s advocacy, she’s setting a new standard for artist-led philanthropy.” The festival not only celebrates female talent but also builds on a growing trend of all-women lineups in live events, such as the 2019 “Girls Just Wanna Weekend” festival curated by Brandi Carlile. With its focus on community and empowerment, Daisy Chain Fields promises to be a landmark event in Rodrigo’s career and a significant moment for gender equity in music.
