The Kering Foundation has announced the celebrity co-hosts for its fifth annual Caring for Women Dinner, scheduled for September 10 at The Pool in New York City. The event, strategically timed to coincide with the start of Fashion Week, will feature a star-studded lineup of hosts, including Salma Hayek Pinault, François-Henri Pinault, Pamela Anderson, Simone Biles, Benicio Del Toro, Nacho Figueras, Dakota Johnson, and Lorna Simpson. By assembling figures from entertainment, sports, and the arts, the dinner has become a key fixture in the fashion and philanthropy calendar, uniting diverse voices around a shared goal of ending gender-based violence.
All proceeds from this year’s gathering will be allocated to four beneficiary organizations: Activating Change, Fondo Semillas, JBWS, and the New York Women’s Foundation. Guests can expect a special musical performance and a live auction featuring luxury items and exclusive experiences donated by Kering’s prestigious fashion houses, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, and Ginori 1735. Last year’s event set a high benchmark by raising over $4.5 million for groups dedicated to combating gender-based violence, demonstrating the substantial financial impact these gatherings can achieve. Established in 2008, the Kering Foundation collaborates with non-profits across six countries, focusing on survivor-centered services and prevention programs to address violence against women and children. Philanthropy experts note that such sustained fundraising is vital, as many grassroots organizations face funding shortages that limit their ability to expand outreach and support services, particularly in underserved regions.
In a statement released Tuesday, François-Henri Pinault, chairman of both Kering and its foundation, highlighted the event’s significance. “Salma and I created the Caring for Women Dinner to raise essential funds for organizations working to end gender-based violence and to mobilize a broader community around this critical mission at the heart of the Kering Foundation’s work,” he said. “As we mark its fifth edition, the dinner stands as a powerful reminder of what this community can achieve when it comes together with purpose.” The foundation leverages its extensive networks to drive awareness, fundraise, and inspire action, reinforcing its long-term commitment to ending violence against women and children globally. This year’s dinner is expected to build on previous successes, drawing attention to a cause that remains urgent across many communities. According to the foundation’s latest impact report, it has supported over 1.2 million individuals since its inception, underscoring the scale of its ongoing work. For context, the Kering Foundation operates in countries like Mexico, France, and the United States, tailoring its programs to local needs, which experts say enhances their effectiveness in addressing diverse cultural challenges related to gender-based violence.
