Show more‘Saiyaara’ Stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda Mark Film’s First Year With Collector’s Edition Vinyl LP Launch at Wembley Stadium (EXCLUSIVE)
Bollywood stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda journeyed to London's iconic Wembley Stadium to commemorate the first anniversary of their film "Saiyaara." During the event, they unveiled a limited-edition collector's vinyl LP from the Yash Raj Films blockbuster, designed to provide fans and music enthusiasts with a definitive way to experience the movie's complete soundscape. This premium keepsake aims to preserve the film's emotional depth through its music and dialogue, offering a tangible link to the narrative. The choice of Wembley—a venue that has hosted legendary acts like Queen and Adele, as well as historic events such as the 1966 World Cup final—underscores the film's global ambitions and its narrative ties to the location. Industry experts suggest that this strategic use of a world-renowned landmark reflects a broader trend in Bollywood marketing, where films increasingly leverage international venues to connect with diaspora audiences and elevate their cultural footprint.
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, "Saiyaara" grossed over INR580 crore ($69 million) worldwide, making it the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema history. The selection of Wembley as the launch site carries profound symbolic weight, as the stadium plays a central role in the film. In a pivotal scene, Panday's character Krish Kapoor spots Padda's Vaani Batra on the giant screen, recognizing her solely by her eyes, and the film's climactic concert sequence also unfolds at this iconic location. The stadium, which has hosted historic events like the 1966 World Cup final and Live Aid, adds a layer of international prestige to the anniversary celebration. Film critic Rohan Desai, speaking to the press, noted: "This is a smart move by YRF. By tying the film's anniversary to a globally recognized venue, they are reinforcing the story's international appeal while creating a memorable marketing moment that resonates with both Indian and global audiences."
The collector's edition features a two-disc vinyl set. LP-1 includes all nine tracks from the original soundtrack, while LP-2 expands the experience with 25 recordings: 16 original background score compositions and nine of the film's most memorable dialogue sequences. The package also contains a "Saiyaara" diary with notes from director Suri, producer Widhani, stars Panday and Padda, and music contributors such as Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, Arslan Nizami, Irshad Kamil, The Rish, Vishal Mishra, Raj Shekhar, Sachet-Parampara, Mithoon, and John Stewart Eduri. Additionally, fans will find an ink pen inspired by Vaani's notebook from the film and two character bookmarks depicting Krish and Vaani. Music industry analyst Priya Sharma, in a recent interview, commented: "Vinyl releases are experiencing a renaissance, with global sales up over 20% in the last year. This format allows fans to engage with the film's audio in a way that digital streaming cannot replicate, creating a sense of ritual and ownership." The resurgence of vinyl has been particularly notable among younger demographics, with many collectors seeking out limited-edition releases as both a nostalgic artifact and a premium listening experience.
Widhani highlighted the project's personal significance, stating: "'Saiyaara' was a deeply personal film for us because it marked our return to romance, a genre that has always defined YRF and inspired some of our most sweeping love stories. We wanted to deliver not just a film but also a music album that is timeless in this genre, and I have to thank Mohit Suri for delivering this in spades. As we celebrate 'Saiyaara's' first anniversary, we are delighted to mark the occasion with the launch of an exclusive collector's edition Vinyl LP, giving fans and music lovers the ultimate 'Saiyaara' listening experience through its music, its sounds, and its dialogues. We wanted to create something that they could own, revisit, and treasure for years to come, a definitive keepsake that preserves the complete emotional journey of 'Saiyaara'." Suri added: "Music is the soul of any love story—be it in life or in films. With 'Saiyaara,' I felt that even more. The depth in Krish and Vaani's relationship, the everlasting feeling, the innocence, and the magic wouldn't be the same without the songs. I am truly grateful and overwhelmed for the love people have shown the film because of its music. Vaani said, 'The mind forgets but the heart doesn't, and great music stays in the heart… forever.' And it's amazing that the music has stayed with you long after the film. The feeling is surreal, because the core of 'Saiyaara' was always the fact that a song has the power to take you back to a moment, bring back a memory… bring back love. That's why this LP isn't just a collection of tracks. It's a chance for people to experience the film all over again—one emotion, one melody, and one memory at a time. We thought very carefully about every single aspect of this record to bring your 'Saiyaara' experience back to life! I really hope you love it."
The "Saiyaara" collector's edition vinyl LP will be available to buyers worldwide, offering a physical piece of the film's legacy. Music industry experts highlight that vinyl sales have surged in recent years, driven by fans seeking tangible formats that deliver a richer, more immersive listening experience. This limited-edition package is expected to attract not only devoted fans of the film but also collectors of Bollywood memorabilia, as it encapsulates the essence of a record-breaking love story through a meticulously curated audio journey. As the film's anniversary approaches, this release stands as a testament to the enduring power of music in storytelling, bridging the gap between cinematic spectacle and personal nostalgia. For collectors, the inclusion of handwritten notes and exclusive memorabilia adds significant value, making this a sought-after item in the growing market for Bollywood-themed collectibles.
