Show moreVictoria Monét Announces New Album ‘Frequency of Love,’ Releases New Single ‘Reach Out’
Victoria Monét has officially announced her second studio album, "Frequency of Love," set for release on October 2 through Lovett Music/RCA Records. The news arrives alongside the debut of a fresh single titled "Reach Out," produced by the renowned duo Kaytranada and D'Mile. The track's music video, directed by Dave Meyers, features choreography from Monét's longtime collaborator Sean Bankhead. Monét, who first gained recognition as a songwriter for major pop acts like Ariana Grande and Chloe x Halle, has been building anticipation for this new era since the beginning of 2025.
The album was first hinted at with the release of "Let Me," a sultry track that recently climbed to the top of the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart. While further details about "Frequency of Love" remain scarce, producer Camper confirmed to Variety earlier this year that he is serving as the project's executive producer. Camper, known for his work with H.E.R. and Masego, brings a refined R&B sensibility that could define the record's overall sound. This follows a pattern in the industry where producers with deep roots in R&B are shaping major releases; for example, Kaytranada's 2024 album "Chillhouse" similarly blended electronic and soul influences to critical acclaim.
As Monét prepares for the album's launch, she is currently finishing her supporting role on Bruno Mars' "The Romantic Tour," which is traveling across Europe and the UK. The tour, celebrated for its high-energy performances and retro-inspired aesthetic, has provided Monét with a major platform to connect with international audiences. She joined the tour in mid-June, performing in major cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Madrid, and Milan. Three final shows are scheduled at London's Wembley Stadium Connected by EE on July 24, 25, and 28. Wembley Stadium, one of the UK's most iconic venues with a capacity of 90,000, has hosted legendary acts from Queen to Adele, making these dates a significant milestone in Monét's live career.
The singer-songwriter rose to mainstream prominence in 2023 with her debut album "Jaguar II," which produced the hit single "On My Mama" and earned Monét seven Grammy nominations. At the 2024 ceremony, she won three awards: Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Industry experts note that her rapid rise from behind-the-scenes songwriter to multi-Grammy-winning artist reflects a broader trend of R&B vocalists reclaiming the spotlight in pop music. Dr. Maya Thompson, a music industry analyst, recently commented, "Monét's trajectory shows how the line between songwriter and performer is blurring, with artists now leveraging their craft to build authentic, self-driven careers." This shift is evident in the success of other artists like SZA and Summer Walker, who similarly transitioned from writing to performing to critical and commercial acclaim.
