Katseye Drops Out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Festival: ‘It Breaks Our Hearts’

Katseye has officially withdrawn from Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Festival, scheduled for this Saturday in Irvine, California. The group, known for their viral hits and dynamic performances, cited an ankle injury sustained by member Megan Skiendiel as the reason for their sudden cancellation. In a heartfelt statement shared across their social media channels, the ensemble expressed deep regret over the last-minute change, explaining that Skiendiel sprained her ankle during tour rehearsals and was subsequently advised by medical professionals to rest and avoid any weight-bearing activity to ensure a full recovery ahead of their upcoming commitments.

“We’re so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday,” the message read. “Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour.” The note went on to convey the group’s disappointment, stating, “It breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there. We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community. We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special. Katseye was originally slated to perform on the Dandelion Stage at 2:15 p.m., sandwiched between sets from Santigold and Mitski. However, the festival has since released a revised schedule, with Santigold now filling the slot previously occupied by the group. The Daisy Chain Fields lineup, curated by Rodrigo herself, emphasizes community and charitable causes, making the group’s absence particularly bittersweet for fans who were eager to see them contribute to the event’s larger mission. As of now, it remains unclear whether Skiendiel’s injury will impact Katseye’s highly anticipated “Wildworld” tour, which is set to kick off in Dublin on September 1.

Katseye, who recently celebrated their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with “Wild,” are slated to traverse the U.K. and Europe through mid-September before heading to North America in October.
