Drake Unveils Surreal ‘Fear of Missing Out’ Film Featuring New Music Videos, Songs and an Ella Langley Remix

Drake dropped a roughly hour-long visual project titled "Fear of Missing Out" on Tuesday night, blending fresh tracks, music videos, and a parade of famous faces. The cast included Sexyy Red, Winnie Harlow, Lena the Plug, Don Toliver, and Sandi Graham, Drake's mother. What he had teased beforehand as a "not so short film" certainly delivered on that promise, stitching together sequences pulled from his latest albums, "Maid of Honour" and "Habibti."

The directing duties were split among Theo Skudra, Liam Macrae, Jake Schreier, Zong Li, and Glenn Michael. "FOMO" unfolded as a quirky patchwork of footage Drake seems to have accumulated over the past year, much of it shot in his hometown of Toronto and elsewhere. It kicked off with "Cheetah Print," spotlighting Sexyy Red, before shifting to Drake on the sand with Stunna Sandy for "Outside Tweaking." The film then veered into a fake infomercial segment demonstrating how to make a drink called the "Panty Dropper." Harlow took center stage in the "New Bestie" visual, while Sandi Graham revealed a fresh "Icemom" tattoo during "True Bestie."

Between videos for already-released cuts like "WNBA," "Road Trips," and "Hoe Phase," Drake slipped in several unreleased songs. The one fans had been buzzing about most was his long-rumored interpretation of Ella Langley's record-smashing single "Choosin' Texas." His version, slowed down and soaked in watery production, enlisted Don Toliver and carried the hook, "Drinkin' yak all by myself / She's from Texas I can tell." Two additional new tracks surfaced as well, one with Toliver and another featuring Yeat. The film wrapped with a wink at his own past: Drake stood on a rebuilt set from his "Hotline Bling" video, and a stagehand eventually carried out a stepladder so he could stroll off. Shortly after the premiere, the YouTube stream was switched to private.

Speculation had been swirling for weeks over whether "Fear of Missing Out" would be an album, a video collection, or a tour. Drake stoked those rumors over the weekend with an Instagram teaser, calling it a "not so short film directed and scored by the family." By Monday, he expanded on the idea, describing it as "self funded surrealism" and "a story about making the absolute most of it all in one summer." A follow-up post dished out life advice: "Here's some life advice before you watch. Nobody is coming to save you. You must use each day to decipher who you love and trust and march forward with them." He went on to say he hoped it would push people to "make that call, take that trip, drop that song, open that shop, see your parents, leave that relationship or stay in it forever, spend the bread, get some more etc." Responding to skeptics of the format, he noted, "They keep saying our genre is dying. Videos don't matter. Nobody is watching nobody is listening. I still care. As much as I did on the set of Best I Ever Had. So be kind and rewind."

The release lands amid an unusually prolific stretch for Drake. His surprise May drop of three albums, "Iceman," "Maid of Honour," and "Habibti," totaled 43 songs and featured Future, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Central Cee, PartyNextDoor, and more. He had been hinting at "Iceman" as far back as 2024, ramped up promotion in July 2025 with a YouTube livestream dubbed "Iceman Episode 1," and confirmed the triple release soon after the fourth installment of that livestream series wrapped in May.
