Luke Bryan to Perform Exclusive Concert in Roku City

Luke Bryan is set to perform in an unusual venue: Roku City, the vibrant neon metropolis that serves as the screensaver on Roku devices. An exclusive concert, titled "Live From Roku City: Luke Bryan," will premiere on the Roku platform at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, Sept. 19. The timing is deliberate, falling just one day after the release of "Signs," Bryan's ninth studio album.

The virtual setlist will feature "Play It Again," his latest single "Country and She Knows It," and a cover of "Where Everybody Knows Your Name," the iconic theme from the sitcom "Cheers." Bryan, a Georgia-born artist known for hits like "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)" and a multiple Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year winner, shared his enthusiasm for the project. In a statement, he thanked the Roku team for the opportunity to reach both his fans and Roku users in what he described as an engaging and interactive format, noting that performing against the Roku City skyline was a special thrill. The singer, whose 2013 album "Crash My Party" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, has long been a fixture at country radio and arena tours.

The special is part of Roku's broader "Live From Roku City" initiative, which turns the animated skyline into a stage for music and entertainment events. Lisa Holme, head of content for Roku Media, praised the collaboration, saying Bryan has a knack for turning any performance into a celebration and that the company wanted to bring that energy to Roku City — even quoting one of his lyrics to say nobody wanted the night to end. Brian Tannenbaum and Randall Bobbitt are overseeing production. Since its launch, Roku City has developed a devoted following, with viewers hunting for hidden Easter eggs and pop-culture references in its rotating animations, transforming a simple screensaver into a beloved cultural touchstone.

Roku has previously dabbled in virtual concerts. In October 2025, Demi Lovato performed a "Live From Roku City" show tied to her album "It's Not That Deep." Then, on Jan. 1 of this year, the platform aired a special linked to "Wicked: For Good," featuring a new dance sequence set to "Wonderful" and choreographed by the film's Christopher Scott; that broadcast aimed to boost digital rentals and purchases of the movie. One streaming industry analyst, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss Roku's strategy, suggested these virtual shows offer musicians a way to reach listeners who might never attend a traditional concert. By turning idle screensaver moments into must-see events, the analyst added, the performances represent a clever fusion of marketing and platform loyalty.
