Sadie Frost, the actress and producer best known for her role in Francis Ford Coppola's *Bram Stoker's Dracula* and for co-founding the influential 1990s fashion label FrostFrench, has teamed up with producer Simon Jones to establish a new production company. Named Frost & Jones, the venture is dedicated to creating high-end documentary and scripted content for both film and television. This move comes on the heels of the critical and commercial triumph of Frost's documentary *Twiggy*, which explored the life of the iconic 1960s supermodel, proving her ability to craft compelling non-fiction narratives. The company's mission is to develop projects that fluidly merge unscripted and scripted storytelling, with a strong focus on resonating with international viewers and tapping into global cultural conversations.
The flagship project for Frost & Jones is "The Story of Quadrophenia," a feature-length documentary directed by Frost herself. The film examines the lasting cultural impact of The Who's 1973 rock opera, tracing its journey from album to film and stage adaptations. Production is backed by a wide-ranging team, including Rachel Fuller from Extended Play, Universal Music Group's Marc Robinson, Daniel Braun from Submarine Entertainment, Chris Greenhill and Nick Hamson of Film Soho, and Chris Wood from Parallax Soho. The documentary offers exclusive behind-the-scenes access from a 2025 rock ballet interpretation of the material. Early discussions for international distribution are already underway with Submarine, Universal, and Studio Soho. Crucially, The Who's Pete Townshend has given his full support, with his manager Bill Curbishley also involved. The film, currently in production, features contributions from notable figures such as Ray Winstone, Phil Daniels, Gary Kemp, Lesley Ash, Toyah Willcox, and Franc Roddam. "After *Twiggy*, I felt compelled to keep examining the people and moments that shape our culture—stories that feel intimate, human, and emotionally truthful, yet also cinematic and daring," Frost explained. "Frost & Jones is about creating work that lingers, that connects across generations and feels relevant in the present moment."
Another documentary on the slate is "Zandra," developed alongside Derek Taylor and Rogan Prods.' James Rogan and Clio David. This film traces the career of designer Zandra Rhodes from the 1960s, highlighting her profound influence on fashion, music, and art. Rhodes, known for her vibrant prints and punk-inspired aesthetic, dressed icons ranging from Princess Diana to Freddie Mercury. Her work, which often challenged conventional beauty standards, remains a touchstone for contemporary designers. On the scripted side, the company is developing "All Too Beautiful," a biopic of Small Faces frontman Steve Marriott. Directed by Frost and written by Paolo Hewitt, the film is adapted from Hewitt's award-winning book. The project is being developed in association with Rosy Cross Prods.' Tom Keenan. Also on the scripted slate is "Faded Grace," a female-led psychological thriller co-written by Frost and Zoe Lewis. The story spans the present day and the 1990s, and is being developed with Dreamtown Entertainment's Ben Charles Edwards, Kirsty Bell, and Phil McKenzie, alongside producer Emma Comley of Hooligan Dreamers. This diverse slate underscores the company's ambition to tackle both intimate character studies and genre-driven narratives.
Frost & Jones is also actively developing a feature documentary with ITN Prods., represented by Gorana Jelovina, Ricardo Pollack, and Natalie Chow. The film focuses on a prominent British cultural figure, described as the country's most iconic "It Girl," though the subject's name has not yet been revealed. The project, developed alongside a key family member, will draw on previously unseen personal archive material from the subject's early life, offering an unprecedented look into her private world. "This is about building a modern production company with real purpose—creatively ambitious, commercially focused, and globally aware," Jones said. "We're developing projects with scope, with partners who can act decisively, and with a clear understanding of the audience. There's a genuine international hunger for these stories, and we're already seeing strong early interest across the slate." The projects were unveiled at the Cannes Film Market, a crucial industry event where producers and distributors from around the globe converge to secure deals and showcase fresh content. This strategic launch positions Frost & Jones to capitalize on the growing demand for authentic, cross-generational storytelling.
